40. Another New World

Lucy suddenly found herself stepping out of a hotel lift, with most of her siblings in toe.
They now found themselves in the middle of a park they didn't recognise, in the centre of the city.
"Cool" laughed Lila, when she realised that they hadn't all died shen Allison had pressed the red button.
As Lucy began to look around at their new surroundings, the lift pinged, and she turned to see Luther stepping out of it.
"Luther!" Gasped Lucy.
"You can see me?" Questioned Luther.
"Yes we can see you, you big idiot" grinned Lucy, as her and Viktor ran at Luther, throwing themselves into his arms.

"I'm alive. I'm alive!" Announced Luther, as he hugged Viktor and Lucy tight.
"Wooo, Luther's alive" cheered Klaus.
"And that's not the only thing. You're normal again" pointed out Lucy.
Luther put her and Viktor down, and looked at his own arms, that were no longer ginormous.
"I'm human again. I look amazing" smiled Luther.
"Luther's all svelte now" commented Klaus.

"And I've got my arm back" revealed Five, as he raised his arm, which was whole once again.
"That's great" replied Lucy, as she hugged Five.
To her suprise, this physical interaction, still didn't make her feel complete.
Even though she was right beside her twin, she didn't feel whole.
It was like there was something missing, but she didn't know what.

"I've got to show Sloane, my new body. Where is she?" Asked Luther, as he looked around the park, searching for Sloane.
"She was right behind me-" started Klaus.
"When Allison hit the bloody button" interupted Lila.
"Allison is gone as well" added Diego.
"I don't know about you guys, but I haven't felt this good in years" informed Klaus.
"Does anyone know where the hell we are?" Questioned Ben.
"The hotel. Or at least, where it used to be" answered Lila.

"I think the old man did it. I think he reset the universe" announced Five.
"You're got your fingers back" gasped Lila, as Diego showed her his hand.
"It's like everyone's bodies have gone back to how they were before dad fucked us all up" said Lucy.
"It seems that way" agreed Five.
Out of curiosity, Lucy pulled up her sleeves, and saw that the scars on her wrists had gone.
Five saw this, and gave her a soft smile, "I guess this is a new start, for all of us then".
"Yeah, I guess it is" mumbled Lucy.
She hadn't liked the appearance of her scars, but they were a part of who she was, and a reminder of what she had been through. Which is why she wasn't sure she liked the idea of having them removed, without her consent.

"I don't care about any bloody resets alright, I want my wife. Where is my wife Five?" Demanded Luther, as he grabbed hold of Five.
"I'm very glad that you're not dead now Luther, but please take your hands off me" instructed Five.
"Not until you give me some answers" replied Luther.
"Alright, screw this" said Five, as lunged forward.
Nothing happened, which caused Five to frown.
"Something is wrong" continued Five.
"Like hell, you're about to get your ass kicked" informed Luther.
"Yeah, kick his ass" encouraged Diego, causing Lucy to elbow him in the side, in retaliation.

"No you moron, my power, I can't Blink" revealed Five.
Luther let go of Five and took a step back.
Diego then removed one of his knives and began swirling them around, but within seconds, they fell to the ground.
"That's not good" frowned Diego.
The rest of the group then attempted to do the same, to see if their powers had also disappeared.
Lucy tried to push out her consciousness, but she couldn't seem to find it, let alone push it out of her.
For the first time in her life, she felt heavy and trapped inside her body, which scared her.

Lucy then began to hyperventilate at the thought of not being able to use her powers.
"I- I can't breathe" stuttered Lucy.
Five placed his hands onto her arms, in an attempt to ground her, and calm her down, "It's O.K, you're going to be O.K".
"I can't feel you either. I can't sense the energy in you. And I don't feel connected to you anymore" admitted Lucy.
"With or without our powers, we are still twins, and nothing will ever change that. You are my sister, and nothing will ever stop me from caring about you" insisted Five.

"But without our powers we won't be able to defend ourselves" panicked Lucy.
"We are both still trained assassins. We never needed our powers to kill people, it just made it easier. You are still extremely deadly, and you have your knives to protect you, as well as me" reminded Five.
Lucy's hands immediately went to her belt and pockets, where she found all of knives exactly where they should be. And having them there, started to calm her down.

"Eugh, this must mean I'm mortal again" groaned Klaus, when he failed to summon any ghosts.
"How do we fix this and get our powers back?" Questioned Ben.
"I don't know" admitted Five.
"Forget about your powers, I need to find my wife" announced Luther, as he began heading out of the park.
"No, Luther, come back. You were dead like 5 minutes ago, you're fragile" Klaus called out.

"I've got to go after him" continued Klaus, before running off after Luther.
"I'm out bitches" announced Ben, as he walked off in the opposite direction.
"No, wait, guys, we've got to stick together, and figure this out" insisted Viktor.
"Well, what the hell do we do now?" Asked Diego.
"Live our lives" smiled Lila, as she placed her hand into his, and pulled him off in a different direction.

"Even if we aren't connected anymore, I don't want to lose you. And I don't want to enter this new world without you" Lucy told Five.
"I think it would be best if we stuck together. The last time you ended up in a different world without me, you went through unimaginable trauma, and I will never forgive myself for what happened to you. But what I can do, is make sure that nothing like that ever happens again to you. I will face this new world, right by your side" promised Five.

"Alright then, let's go and see what new set of horrors this world has in store for us" grinned Lucy, as the pair began making their way out of the park.
"Knowing our track record, it is bound to be something bad" sighed Five.
"Yes, I bet it will be. But whatever new threats we face, we will face them together" replied Lucy.
"Together" agreed Five.
