23. Box It Up

Lucy and her siblings headed downstairs where the others were waiting, and as a group they all headed down into the basement, so that they could confront the Kugelblitz.
Allison wouldn't be joining them, which was for the best, as neither Lucy or Viktor could stand to be around their sister anymore.
"You know, if you wanted to talk about what happened to you, I'm here for you" whispered Viktor, as they descended the basement steps.
"I think I've done enough talking about my ordeal for now. Thanks though... And if we don't die by the end of the week, I will happily explain my story to you" informed Lucy.
"O.K. I just wanted you to know, that I have your back" replied Viktor.
"Thanks. It's good to know that someone does".

A moment later they all entered the basement, and laid eyes on the Kugelblitz.
"It's beautiful isn't it" said Fei.
"Wow" gasped Luther.
"That's one word for it" mumbled Lucy.
The Kugelblitz looked like a big ball of fire and electricity that was constantly moving, and emitting strange sounds, despite the lack of mouth.

"That's what took Stanley?" Questioned Lila.
"As well as a few other billion people" answered Fei.
"Yeah, who I didn't know and don't care about" commented Lila.
"Oh, so it's all about you?".
"None of us matter, O.K. This is about stopping the end of universe... What is it made out of anyway?" Quizzed Five.
"Micro black holes collapsing at increasingly short intervals" revealed Sloane.
"Then why aren't we all being sucked inside?" Asked Five.
"Honestly, we have no idea. You shouldn't exist here and neither should this"
"And impossibility for an impossibility. The universe is a sucker for balance".

"Grace has been tracking the waves. There's another one due shortly" informed Fei.
"O.K, so what do we do?" Asked Diego.
"We trap it" answered Sloane.
"Dyson Sphere?" Questioned Five.
"Yep" replied Sloane.
"Alright, confinement factor?" Quizzed Five.
"0.98 at peak energy flux"
"Tensile strength?"
"UTS ceiling of 10,000 gigapascals".

"Well Five, do those numbers work for you?" Asked Lucy, who had no idea what him Sloane were talking about.
"It could work. Or we could all die horribly" revealed Five.
"That sounds reassuring, and similar to all the other amazing plans we've had in the past, that have all gone horribly wrong. But since we haven't got a better idea, I guess we have no choice but to go with their plan" sighed Lucy.
"You're right. I'm in".
"It's not you we need" informed Ben.
"Excuse me?" Frowned Five.
"For this plan to work, we need; Sloane, Lila, Christopher and Viktor" announced Fei.
"I'm so glad you didn't say me" mumbled Lucy.

"O.K, how do we start?" Questioned Viktor.
"Have you ever moved a nest of bees before?" Asked Sloane.
"No, because that's weird" informed Lila.
"Well, you can't just pick it up. You have to keep the swarm calm, while you build a box around it, and then you trap it" explained Sloane.
She then extended her arms, and used her power to lift herself into the air above the Kugelblitz.

"One of those black holes inside, is vibrating at a different rate" informed Fei.
"I can feel them" replied Viktor.
"Good. Now, whatever happens, don't let them speed up or change, or everything will blow" warned Fei.
"Don't shake the bees, I got it" insisted Viktor.
"Good luck Viktor" said Lucy.
Viktor shot her a quick thankful smile, before turning his attention back to the Kugelblitz.
He began to power up and emit a blue energy from his body, as Lila copied, mimicking his power.
They both then formed a shield over the Kugelblitz as instructed by Fei.

"What is she doing?" Whispered Luther, as he pointed up at his girlfriend.
"Using its own gravity to condense it" explained Ben.
"That's pretty cool" smiled Luther.
Ben rolled his eyes, and moved away from Luther.
Everyone in the room held their breaths and watched as Sloane began trying to shrink the Kugelblitz.

"You didn't tell me you were trying to build a prison for God".
"Mum?" Questioned Diego, as everyone's heads turned to the stairs that Grace had just come down.
"You shouldn't be doing that" informed Grace.
"We're a little busy here Grace" announced Luther.
"The day of vengeance was in my heart" recited Grace.
"What are you talking about?" Quizzed Diego.
"And my year of redemption hath come" finished Grace.
She then raised the flame thrower in her hands, and began to try and burn them all.

"Shit!" Yelled Diego, as they all dived for cover.
Only Viktor and Lila were left standing, as they couldn't remove their power from the Kugelblitz without blowing everything up.
"Mum's got a flame thrower, and she seems pissed!" Shouted Lucy, as more flames erupted.
"She seems to think the Kugelblitz is God for some reason" explained Fei.
"Well, we can't let her distract the others, or this whole room will blow" said Five.
"Yeah, we know" replied Lucy.

"You'll have to go up to mum and take her out" instructed Five.
"Why me?" Frowned Lucy.
"Because you're the only one who can get to her without being hurt, since your consciousness cannot be harmed if its not in its physical state" reminded Five.
"I don't care, I still don't see why I have to be the one to kill mum?"
"Because you can do it without getting hurt in the process. Look, we are running out of options here Lucy, just do it!"
"I can't just kill our mum, even if in this timeline she didn't raise us. She was the closest thing any of us had to a mother, and I cannot kill her!"
"Fine, then I'll do it".
Five Blinked to Grace's side, took hold of her, before Blinking out of the room with her in toe, and returning a minute later.

"Now Christopher" instructed Sloane.
Christopher the cube then came apart into dozens of small pieces, and began trying to close around the Kugelblitz.
After a few tense moments, Christopher succeeded in enclosing around the Kugelblitz, before forming back into a solid cube.
Sloane then landed back on the ground, and Lila and Viktor both stumbled from exhaustion.

"Are you alright?" Lucy asked Viktor.
"Yeah, I'll be O.K. I'm just a bit out of breath" reassured Viktor.
"Did it work?" Questioned Five.
"We'll find out in a minute" answered Sloane, before looking down at her watch.
"Next Kugel wave in 3... 2... 1" continued Sloane.
Everyone held their breath when she reached 1, but instead of another wave bursting out of Christopher, the cube farted, causing them all to laugh.

"We did it" gasped Lucy, who couldn't quite believe it.
"We did" smiled Five.
"Well, now that we have stopped the end of the world, it's time to have a massive party upstairs, and you are all welcome!" Announced Ben.
"Right, well after all that hard work, we deserve to let our hair down" agreed Lucy.
"Yes, lets have a good day for once" added Five.
"After you big brother" teased Lucy.
