18- Prolouge- Little Moments

 
-Late August 2023-

8 months after the world went to shit

After my Return things happened pretty fast but some things we were still living without.

Our phones had began working again, the cities once again had power at least at night they did even if brown outs were common.
Planes were flying again miraculously even if our trucks still sat in the car park and new garage like metal monuments.
The internet was nonexistent and Baddies still made attempts on us, but the Factions had began self governing and communicating between themselves, The Knights were seldomly needed to straighten things out.

I was sitting in Stroker escaping the tension in the tower, Jessy was overdue with the Triplets. The only one with a set name was Joanna Maryanda; Tobi was the boys set first name but Jessy and Nemo weren't totally settled on using Richard.

"Hey Boo." Dan said joining me

"Hey Cuz, everything good?" I said ready to leap out and stop one of Oliver's meltdowns or Wake Jake up from a nightmare or kill a ghoul.

Dan sighed "Alls well. Just taking a break from the tower. Jake said it shouldn't be too much longer."

I stared at the sky getting out of the truck shutting the door as my phone pinged with a text "Your girlfriends text me." I teased Dan then read the text

Molly: Duskwood is beautiful!
Rj: I told you so!
Molly: Dan's still ignoring me, I wouldn't had said I was his girlfriend if I knew he'd get like this!
Rj: *sigh* Men are weird.
Molly: Tobias says hello, he still can't unpossess me
Rj: IMY Toby. Tonight may be Triplet Night :D
Molly: keep me posted! Xoxo

I laughed pocketing my phone looking back to Dan as he said "She assumed I wanted a girlfriend. Damn."

I was about to ask why he said damn like that when I suddenly felt like I was being torn in two, my bladder decided it was a grand time to let loose its cargo soaking my pants I yelped "Dan....I think this.....Oh shit....yeah this is it."

Sulfur filled the area with Jake's cologne. Damien and Jake helped Dan and I to our feet. I looked at Dan and whined "Aww Man how come you didn't piss yourself?!"
"I haven't drank a drop all afternoon! Ha!" Dan teased back as we both suffered through the contraction still rolling through us.
Jake held me tightly as Damien poofed us to the tower.
I showered and changed when the first contraction subsided then went to the grand room on the ground floor.
"Hey sweetheart Oliver's down for the night thankfully." Dad said kissing my temple
"Thanks Dad. How's Jessy?" I chirped sitting on a floor pillow

"She's okay considering, Karina and tish have her I'm the Queens Chambers. It's Nemo I'm worried about, his definitely feeling the burden." Dad mused "Jake and Dan went to look for him at Damiens."

I searched the ground with my eyes standing up I told Dad "Molly and Toby said HI." And I ran out of the tower knowing where to find Nemo, and it wasn't Damien's.

I ran into the woods and to the creek, he was throwing sticks into the mists yelling "That's bullshit Rumple. You make Death take me if she has to go!"
