Day 14 - A Positive Encounter

"So like... You never die...?" Dream asked, staring at the everbleeding skeleton in front of him, who then nodded in response. "Well technically yes and no... If I leave the save screen, then I actually dust but in here... I technically can't even die." Geno explained and Dream lets out a small 'ooh'.

"That's so cool!" Dream exclaimed and Geno blinked. "Is it...?" Geno sheepishly asked and Dream nodded excitedly. "It definitely is!" Dream chirped happily and Geno blinked. "I... See..." Geno couldn't help but smile a bit.

He doesn't know why he's acting this way in all honesty, he usually would just... Act mean and cold to anyone that somehow manages to come across his AU, even that Reaper and Ink dude... Ugh... Ink, so obnoxious and annoying.

Reaper's also annoying as hell, always flirting and shit... Ugh. But this yellow ball of positivity? He's different. And Geno can't explain how.

"Oh- Ahh... My brother's at it again." "Brother? You have a brother?" "Oh- Yeah! Well... My brother's kinda... My enemy at the moment but-" "... Why?" "I'll... I'll explain later, I promise!" Dream then got up and grinned, waving a bit and Geno blinked. "Ya better." "I will!" Dream cheered. "I'll come back in a bit!" Dream exclaimed before quickly leaving.

"I'll look forward to it..." Geno mumbled, and he meant it as he grinned to himself.

The Sans was sitting boredly in the SAVE Screen, when the positive guardian finally came back.

Geno perked up at that and glanced in Dream's direction. "Oh! Hello, Dream!" He chirped.
He felt weirdly happy that the other came back.

Dream smiled tiredly at him and moved to Geno, sitting down next to him.
"Hello again, Geno. How are you doing?" The yellow clad spirit asked.

Geno grinned lightly. "I'm  fine! It's nice to see you, Dream."
The other nodded lightly. "The feelings are mutual." He said, giving Geno a smile.

Dream's smiles were nice.

"Uh- yeah, yeah-" Geno said quickly. 
Dream giggled lightly, but Geno didn't understand why. Did he- did he say something wrong.
But Dream didn't seem upset.

"So err... about that promise...?" Ah, this has gotten awkward real quick and Dream seems to have perked up. "Oh-! Right right uhhh-" Dream then scrunched his face up, going into thinking mode and Geno couldn't help but snort at that. Ah... It was adorable...

Wait-

What the hell was he thinking?!

No Geno- You can't think of him as adorable! You don't even know the guy as much yet!

"Oh- right uh! Well... Where do I begin..." Geno was snapped out when Dream began talking. "Well, begin wherever you want." Geno smiled and Dream nodded, and so he told his AU's story.

And by the end of it all, Dream had tears streaming down his eyesockets. "I just... Want to save him is all..." Dream sniffled and Geno frowned worriedly. Oh... That was.... He then scooted closer for a bit before slowly pulling Dream into a hug, surprising the yellow guardian, who meeped a bit.

"G-Geno...?" "Shh... Just let yourself cry... You need it..." Geno whispered. And so, Dream did. He cried his SOUL out to Geno's shoulder, sobbing out all of the stress that had piled up in his days of growing up to protect the Multiverse from his relentless brother.

"Hey... Maybe... Give it a bit more time... There's... Also a chance that there was even a misunderstanding..." Geno said softly and Dream sniffled. "Y... Y'think so...?" Dream hiccuped and Geno smiled, rubbing Dream's skull. "I know so..." Geno said softly and Dream shakily nodded, sniffling.

"O-Okay..." "Until then... I admire you not giving up, Dream." Geno hummed and Dream blinked. "R-Really...?" He could even feel a blush coming up and Geno nodded. "Really... You're really brave and motivated. I'm sure someday soon, you'll be able to make your brother understand your side." Geno smiled gently and Dream sniffled, but nodded as well.

"Thank you..." "It's no problem, Dream." Geno hummed.

Dream was silent for a bit before glancing at Geno. "Hey..." "Hmm?" "Do you.... Mind if I... Keep coming back here?" Dream asked softly and Geno blinked. "Oh- Not at all!" Geno cheered and Dream smiled a bit. "Thank you."

"Geno!" Dream called, rushing towards the SAVE SCREEN. "Geno I have good news! Ge-Geno...?" Dream's excitement disappeared when he was greeted with an empty space. He then looked around in worry, clutching the item close to his chest. "Geno...?" Dream whispered, the crown dropping to the floor.

Dream walked through the doors, hugging the item close to his chest. "Dream! He-hey..." Blue's cheerful voice degraded to a soft and concerned one once he noticed the look on his friend's face. "What happened...?" Blue murmured, walking towards his friend who sniffled a bit. "Dream..." "J-Just... I just... I need some alone time..." Dream whispered, quickly walking past Blue who blinked and slowly nodded. "O-Oh... Okay." Blue nodded, understanding the sudden need. Everyone needs some alone time every once in a while after all.

Dream then flopped on his bed once he had reached his room, curling up while still hugging the item close to his chest. "You... You're not... Dead..." Dream whispered, tears pricking his eyesockets. "I know you're not... You're just... I feel it- I feel your emotions. You're somewhere out there..." Dream sniffled. Missing- his friend... Is missing. Yeah. There's no mistaking it. Even if the emotions feel... Off...

He was sure that it was still Geno. "Geno... Wherever you are- I will come find you..." Dream wiped his eyesockets. "Find you... Before that Reaper does." Yes, he has competition... And he is determined to win this time. If he still hasn't managed to get to his brother, then maybe... Just maybe... He'll get to Geno first instead. He was sure of it-

"I won't let you down Geno." Dream said, determination running through his eyelights as he then rolled over to face the ceiling, pushing the crown into his inventory. "No matter what happens, I will find you."

* Fun fact, one of my headcannons is that in Dreamtale, it's a custom where you propose to someone with a crown rather than a ring, but with advanced technologeh, the ring can be turned to a crown and vice versa, so two in one.
* Now you know why Dream was carrying a crown :)
* This was honestly fun to do when we did it lmao
