I woke up in a cold sweat panting from a dream I can't remember. I looked to my right and saw the red 5:32 of my alarm clock. I sighed trying to remember what the dream was about.

Did I remember a...forest? That was all I could remember. I've been getting more of these dreams and the only thing they have in common is a forest. I sat there trying to figure out what these dreams meant. After ten minutes of coming up with nothing I decided to get up and go downstairs. I went to the kitchen looking for something to eat and drink I grabbed some lemonade from the refrigerator but couldn't decide on what I wanted for breakfast.

I went to the freezer to grab some waffles but as soon as I opened the freezer my eyes darted toward a cake that sat in one of the corners. It had vanilla icing and a 12 written on the icing.

I looked at the clock and saw 5:48. The school bus arrives in about an hour. Oh and on the subject of the school. I HATE IT!! I WISH I COULD PUNCH THE PERSON WHO CAME UP WITH THE IDEA!!!
"What's the birthday boy doing up so early." I turned to see my dad walking down the steps.

He always got up at 5:30 on the weekdays to go to work at 7:00. Why he gets up at 5:30 when he could sleep an extra 45 minutes? Don't ask me.

"I just couldn't sleep," I said grabbing the waffles out of the freezer.

He nodded. Acknowledging and ending the conversation right there. He then walked over to the couch, grabbed the remote, turned the TV on, and then walked over to the kitchen. I grabbed the toaster and started toasting my waffles.

While idly watching the toaster I reflected on past dreams trying to find what they meant. One I had a few days ago involved a flying chariot and a forest. The day after that was a dream of the same forest and... I just couldn't remember what happened.

*Ding* I heard as the toaster shot up with two waffles. I grabbed the two waffles put them on a plate and went to the table that sat just to the right of my kitchen. I sat down and started absentmindedly eating the waffle.

As soon as I started eating I felt something brush up against my leg and my head bolted down to look at it. It's always been a reflex to just immediately assume that whatever I don't know is a threat until proven otherwise.

I look down and just saw my cat.

"How are you doing, Sylvester," I asked as I picked up the cat.

It then looked at me as if to say, "Put me down or I will claw your eyes out." I obliged. My cat has gotten a little bit more... mean in general. For example, when we first got him he would constantly be around me and treat me like a king whilst he attacked almost anything that got near me. Now he just acts as if he hates me.

I turned my attention back to my breakfast but just a little bit through I was disrupted by my cat again.

I heard this hissing behind me and I could practically hear," What the hell is that doing here."

I turned around as fast as possible and saw that there were three hawks sitting outside my window. One of them was looking down at the cat while the others had their eyes fixed on me.

I just looked at the three hawks in confusion. They just stood there, staring at me. I pinched myself to figure out if I was dreaming or not. I wasn't. The birds looked at each other and then back at me. Each of them lowered their heads before flying off into the distance.

"What was that?" I mumbled to myself. I sat there staring at the window for a few minutes before turning my attention back to my waffles.
After I finished I checked the time and saw that it was 6:26. What? I don't want to- fine. I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the door.

"I got to go!" I yelled across the room. "Love you!"

"Love you!" I heard come from across the room as I shut the door and walked down the steps to get to my bus.

A/N: This was a chapter I made when I was about 12 and I completely forgot about it. I'm a little better at writing now but I felt like keeping this chapter the same. The story is kind of boring but picks up in a little. Even though I'm a little bit better at writing now I would still take feedback on the story seeing that this is my first story. Thank you for reading.
