I stared in awe, at the now fading sigil above my head, as everything fit into place but now new questions filled the space of the ones I had before. How is Artemis my mother. Isn't she a maiden?
"Campers!!" I heard Chiron's voice ring out above the murmurs that were in the crowd. I saw the centaur navigating to the front of the crowd.
"Back to your cabins!!!" He yelled as he addressed the crowd. He then turned to us,
" I believe you know what cabins you two go to."We both nodded as a reply.
We started walking off to the cabins.
"No wonder you beat me this morning." Luke said running up behind me.
"I just don't understand how she's my mother." I said still wrapping the moment in paper to send it off to my memories.
"None of us do... there's probably a good explanation." Luke said as we walked up to the Artemis cabin.
"I believe this is my stop." I said still confused about before.
"See ya tomorrow." Luke finished before walking off.As soon as I walked in I braced myself for pain because I was stepping out of the moonlight but the windows on the sides of the cabin reflected moonlight making it bounce around the room. The walls had animal carvings and arrows strewn about the room.
It was nice having my own room but it was lonely. There was nobody to have small talk with and nobody to vent to.
I looked down at my necklace and the words,
"I told you I'd see you today."
"Very funny." I said aloud
"Are you just an inanimate object or is there something behind you." I asked slightly hoping that the engraving would change and answer me.It didn't.
I decided to get some sleep.
"Artemis, can you please give me some answers?" I asked as I drifted off to sleep
I stood up in the same forest I've seen in my dreams but instead of having 4 furry legs I was back as a person.
"Y/N, look at me." A voice said to my left.
I looked over and saw a woman roughly in her 30s. She had the same steel green eyes as the girl.
"Artemis?" I asked, she winced at my words like she was expecting me to call her mother and run into her arms.
"Yes." Was all she replied with.
"Where am I?" I asked as I took in my surroundings.
"Yosemite, we're making our way back to New York." She said
"Who is "we?""
"The hunters. They are basically my campers."
"Oh"She looked at my necklace. In its current form it had a falcon as its figure.
"Do you know what that can do?"
"Uhh...no?"
She walked closer to me.
"Put two fingers on the falcons head and say πεφταστέρι." She said doing exactly as she was saying. As she did this the necklace transformed into a string? With wood? Oh it's a bow. I'm dumb as hell.
To offset my stupidity was awe. The bow was beautiful and when I grabbed it, it fit perfectly in my hands. There were green outlines on it with animal engravings on the sides of it.
"You're my first and probably only child so you may or may not be...what's the word mortals use. Ah yes, pampered." She said laughing.
"Thanks."
"It is of no need for thanks my child." She said as the dream faded away.

I woke up to my alarm going off at 6:00. Way earlier than I needed seeing as the day didn't really start until 8 but I enjoyed the peace of mind shooting arrows into targets alone brought.
I walked out and was able to see the last harpy fly out of sight. Before double checking my surroundings I went outside.
As soon as I stepped out I felt a wave of relief rushed through me as if all of the grogginess and fatigue was being burnt in the moonlight.
I walked over to the archery range and just to make sure that my dream wasn't lying I put two fingers on my necklace and whispered, "πεφταστέρι." And just as I said that a beautiful bow appeared fitting perfectly into my hand. I admired the carving and the green tint of it as I went to grab one of the arrows that was piled to the right of the range but as I started to bend over I felt this weight on my back. I looked back and saw a quiver full of arrows. I guess that happens too.
"Thanks, Artemis." I said looking up to the sky.
The moon seemed to glow a bit brighter as soon as I said that.I examined one of the arrows and saw a whole story on it reading from left to right.
It showed the story of how Zeus killed Kronos. On the very left it showed a rock being served to Kronos. The next image was of Zeus allying himself with cyclopes and a weird thing that had a lot of arms. It then showed zeus killing Kronos and sending him to Tartarus.
"Ok that's cool." I said notching the same arrow and pulling it back I relaxed and then released. Hitting the bullseye dead on.
My mind then casted back to yesterday as I absentmindedly shot more arrows.
"I shouldn't exist." I thought for a split second but I then remembered that Annabeth is the daughter of Athena who is also a maiden goddess. So maybe I'm not alone. I do feel bad for Percy though. I heard Annabeth saying that the "big three" vowed to not have children after ww2."Not bad, moonshine." I heard clapping and a female voice behind. Speak of the devil
"Not bad? That was four bullseyes at 90 yards." I asked questioning her judgement.
"What are you doing out here?" She asked, ignoring me.
"Clearing my head." I replied
"I was going to the dock if you wanted to join?"
She asked looking at the ground
"Sure, I'll be there in a sec." I told her as I tried to figure out how to put my bow back to "necklace form."
"Say Ανατολή ηλίου" Artemis' voice rang through my head.
"Ανατολή ηλίου" I said and the bow shrunk into a wooden falcon who was holding string in its talons. The falcon then flew into the air and put the string around the back of my neck and then stiffened back into a wooden carving.
I think my brain is malfunctioning with how awesome that was.I gathered myself and then walked out to Annabeth.
