Y/N'S P.O.V.
The next day you arrive early at the wedding and help Fuyuko and Sawamura get ready for the coming event.
Just as guests begin to file into the venue, you walk into your brother's room to tell him to start hurrying up. However, your mother's already beaten you to it, and Sawamura's pacing back and forth in the room.
"What's goin' on?" you ask as you look between the two of them. "Are you okay?"
"He's fine," your mother speaks from the comfort of a chair as she watches her son pace the room. "Don't you worry, Y/N. Why don't you go back to your date?"
"Only problem with that is I don't know who my date is, mom. Nobody's telling me and I don't know why... but that's not the point," you grumble as you shake your head and approach your brother. "What's wrong with you? You're about to get married, stupid."
"I don't know, Y/N. What if this isn't a good idea?"
"What do you mean?" you ask, looking into his dark eyes for an answer. "You don't want to get married?"
"I do... it's just, what if I'm not a good husband? Or I fuck up and it doesn't even last six months?" he sighs.
"Divorce isn't even an option," your mother scoffs.
You roll your eyes, unable to completely tune her out. "Listen, Sawamura, you're going to be a great husband. You love Fuyuko and she's great for you. The two of you wouldn't have put yourself in this situation if it wasn't what you both wanted. You're smart. You can do this. Just don't get too drunk in front of mom and dad," you tease at the end.
"Says you," he grins.
"There he is!" you smile. "Come on, let's go out. Everybody wants to see the groom on his big day. You know, 'til Fuyuko comes out."
"Yeah, let's go," he nods as he stands up a bit straighter. "I'm ready."
You hold out your hand to your brother and with a deep breath, he accepts it. The two of you then walk out, leaving your mother in the dust.
"So where, uh, is that friend you were trying to set me up with?" you ask a bit nervously. "If he didn't show that's alright, too. I'm totally cool with just being with Faye and Kotonoha all night."
"Are you?" he asks. "Pretty sure they need some time alone together."
"Please," you shake your head. "Faye's still so deep in denial she can't even see what's right in front of her. Or, what should be under her..."
"Don't," he sighs. "Please don't. That was such a bad joke, Y/N."
"Alright fine, but really, is he here yet?" you ask.
Just then, Faye and Kotonoha approach you both.
"Ah, speaking of the two-headed devil," Sawamura smiles at them.
"Talking about us on your wedding day? We're honored," Kotonoha teases while Faye just smiles like an idiot.
"Y/N was asking me if her date is here. I was going to help her look for him, but maybe the two of you could help," he pleads almost as though he doesn't want to be there when you meet this mysterious friend of his.
"You want my friends to introduce me to your friend?" you look at him oddly.
"It's my wedding day, Y/N," he clears his throat awkwardly. "I've got peoples' hands to shake."
"Whatever," you sigh as your fold your arms together. "Go on then."
"Thanks," he smiles at your friends before waving and walking off.
"Is he alright?" Faye asks you. "He seems distracted or something?"
"He was just a bit worried, but he should be better soon... I hope," you admit to them.
"Not getting cold feet, is he?" Kotonoha asks you.
"I don't think so. He's so in love with her I bet he probably forgot what friend he set me up with," you roll your eyes.
"Well let's go look for him," Faye smiles at you as she interlocks her arm in yours. "Don't stress about it. He's super cute."
The two of you walk towards the large wooden doors of the venue when suddenly one of them opens up revealing a handsome, orange-haired man on the other side. You suddenly stop when you see him, and your two friends look at you strangely.
"What's wrong, Y/N?" Kotonoha asks curiously. "Do you know that guy?"
Without answering, you pull both of your friends into the nearby bathroom and stuff them into the somewhat small handicapped stall.
"Woah, what's going on with you?" Faye whispers sternly. "We were just going to introduce you! It's not like you to get nervous like that!"
"Was that the guy you were bringing me to? That guy by the door?" you ask nervously.
"Yeah, that's Sawamura's friend. He's the one we set you up with," Kotonoha explains.
"Come on, let's just go meet him, okay?" Faye tries to convince you.
"I can't," you vaguely tell them.
"Why not? You were cool with the whole thing just minutes ago? Is he not your type?" Kotonoha presses.
"Fuck, Noha, I just can't, okay?" you urge them. You can feel your heart rate begin to spike. You can't believe he's actually here. This must be some kind of joke.
"Why?" she asks again. "Cause he's the guy you've been seeing? Is that why?"
"How do you even know that?" you ask wide-eyed. "Don't tell me this was all your plan or something. Is he in on it too? Shit!"
"Calm down, Y/N, this isn't some kind of elaborate plan to make you fall in love with your brother's friend. It really is just a coincidence. I only found out when I saw your phone call from him yesterday."
"So you knew?! And you didn't tell me?!" you gasp, continuing to freak out.
"Seriously, chill out. I was only suspecting which is why I didn't say anything in case I was wrong. But, Y/N, this is a good thing. At least now you'll actually like being with the person you're stuck with all day!"
"No," you shake your head. "Guys, I can't do this."
"Oh don't be like that," Faye shakes her head as she unlocks the stall door. "You'll be fine. Let's go."
You stare between your two friends for a moment before begrudgingly walking out. "I can't believe this," you shake your head.
"You're not the only one," Kotonoha tells you as the three of you step out of the bathroom and into the venue.
Almost right away, you see Hinata chatting with your brother. As much as you don't want to go over, your friends start heading that way and you decide it's best to just get it over with.
When you approach the two of them, Sawamura's eyes catch onto yours. He quickly pardons himself from his friend and nearly runs away to avoid the confrontation.
"Y/N!" your voice is suddenly called from behind you. When you turn around, Honoka is looking at you with her chest heaving as though she'd been running around everywhere looking for you.
