Y/N'S P.O.V.

The night before the wedding, you go over to Faye's apartment to see her and Kotonoha. Even though Fuyuko had invited the three of you to her bachelorette party, you were able to come up with a good excuse beforehand that you wouldn't be able to make it. And thankfully, after that, she excused your two friends from going, too.

KOTONOHA'S P.O.V.

Once Y/N gets to Faye's place, we're all set to start our game. Our plan was to all bring a bottle of wine. Faye bought one worth less than ¥1,300. Y/N bought one worth around ¥2,000. And lastly, mine was over ¥3,500.

I take the three bottles and wrap them in foil to cover them. Our game is that we'll need to guess which wine is which, so covering them is the only setup we need.

Once they're covered, I bring the three bottles over to the kitchen table where Faye smiles at me and mixes up the three bottles so I don't have any kind of advantage. Then, we can finally have some fun.

When Y/N puts on some music, we begin. First, we start with one of the bottles and all take a sip from it.

"That's Faye's," Y/N nods.

"No way," Faye disagrees. "I think it's yours, Y/N."

"Noha?" they both ask at the same time.

"I'm pretty sure it's mine," I smile. I agree with Y/N more, but I'd rather make the game more interesting than agree with either of them.

"Damn, you're probably right," Faye grumbles. "You're always good at this kind of stuff."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I then ask, knowing exactly what she's referring to.

"You're our freaking plug, Noha. Actually, you're probably closer to drug smuggler than dealer," Faye pouts.

"Maybe that's why you're friends with me," Y/N teases. "You could just be using me for my detective for a brother."

"Maybe," I sing as I grab the next bottle and take a swig from it. "But this one is definitely Faye's."

It's the truth, I do honestly think it's Faye's this time. But who knows, I could be wrong.

When I pass the bottle to Y/N, she takes a long drink before passing it to Faye. "No," she shakes her head. "That one is definitely mine."

"Are you just going to keep saying they're all yours?" I laugh.

"No! I just don't think they taste super cheap or expensive," she shrugs. "I can't remember the last time I had wine. I typically need something stronger."

"Hm," Faye then interjects as she takes a second sip from the covered wine bottle. "Yeah, I think it's Y/N's, too."

"Alright then try the last one," I smile at the two of them. "See if you change your mind."

"You don't know which is which, right, Noha?" Faye says, narrowing her eyes at me.

"What would be the point in cheating? It's a game, not life or death," I assure them.

After Faye takes the first sip, she passes it to Y/N who does the same before handing it off to me.

"What do you guys think?" I ask before I finish it off.

"I don't know..." Y/N says cryptically.

"It's got to be Noha's, right?" Faye asks her. They both seem to be a bit tipsy already.

"They all taste the same to me," Y/N then sighs in defeat. "I mean, alcohol is alcohol. Isn't the whole point to get drunk no matter what your budget is?"

"I think that's one of the smartest things I've ever heard you say," I laugh. "I'm going to guess this one is Y/N's since it's the last one I have left to guess. Moment of truth?"

Faye grabs the first bottle and carefully removes the foil. "The first one we drank was... Noha's!" she gasps. "You were right, Noha!"

"Damn," Y/N sighs. "Pass me the second one."

When Faye does just that, Y/N takes a sip from the bottle before unwrapping it. When she does, she discovers that it was hers.

"Wow, none of us got that right," Faye shakes her head. "That means the last one is mine, I guess."

"Well now that we know whose is whose, can we drink?" Y/N asks.

"Sounds good to me," I nod.

After the three of us get to drinking, we pass the time by laughing and talking about whatever random topic comes to mind. We talk about old times when we first met. Recent times like our girls' trip out of town. And even a few in between.

Some time then passes and our group mellows out. It's probably around two at this point. We all look like we're about to pass out.

"I wonder how Sawamura's whole bachelor party is going. I overheard him planning it with his friends a few times. They made a whole itinerary. What guy does that?" Y/N asks quietly.

"An organized one," Faye comes to his defense.

"I think right now they're at some bar crawl downtown. Or maybe not. It's getting late."

"That sounds fun," Faye hums as though she's half asleep. "We should do that sometime. Remember we did that last year on New Year's?"

"Faye, that was 'How I Met Your Mother' and I'm pretty sure it was a Christmas Episode, not New Year's." I sigh.

"Same thing," she yawns.

Just then, one of our phones starts to ring. We all look around until I spot Y/N's phone lit up with the name 'Shoyo' as the caller.

"Who's this?" I ask as I hand her the phone.

"No one. It's nobody," she shakes her head as she declines the call and puts her phone in her pocket. I'm going to use the bathroom. I'll be right back," she says quickly before scurrying off.

"Hey, Faye," I whisper to her while making sure Y/N's out of listening range.

"Hm?" she asks, looking over at me with half-closed eyes from the couch.

"Y/N just got a call from Shoyo. You know, like the guy we were trying to set her up with. You don't think Sawamura told her about him, do you?" I ask curiously.

"What? Seriously?" she whispers as she sits up abruptly. "No, he wouldn't do that. I'm pretty sure he wanted it to be a surprise so she couldn't hate him and refuse to go."

"Well then how do you suppose they met?" I continue to ask.

"Maybe it's some other guy with the same name," she shrugs.

"Really? Wouldn't that be quite the coincidence?" I scoff.

"It'd be quite the coincidence if she already knew her brother's friend that we're setting her up with without even knowing it's actually him!" she whisper shouts.

"Okay, okay, I see your point. I guess it doesn't really matter anyway. She'll see him tomorrow at the wedding either way," I nod.

"Exactly. And if it does so happen that the two of them are fucking around behind the scenes, tomorrow will be that much more fun," she then grins at me.

"Yeah, that's one way of looking at it," I chuckle. "Hey, maybe that's why she didn't go off with that guy from the beach."

"Or maybe she didn't want to ditch her two friends in the middle of a girls' trip. Enough with your conspiracies, Noha, I need a nap."

With that, Faye pats my cheek twice before leaning back and shutting her eyes. "G'night," she whispers.

"Good night, Faye."
