"Hey, Sawamura, where are we going?" you ask from the backseat as you eye your husband carefully.

"Back to this guy's place. Bet that's where he was planning on takin' Evelyn anyway. Y/N, put that location from your Uber to my phone," he tells you as he passes his phone back to you.

"Sure, but you'll have to give me a sec to find it."

"Hurry as fast as you can," he responds. "I don't trust this freak for a second."

"You shoulda just knocked him out then," you sigh as you begin to search through his phone.

"Yeah, with what? You want me to punch him half to death?"

"I dunno, it might've made this easier," you shrug. "It's not like I've done this before, Sawamura. Aren't you kinda like the expert with this whole thing?"

"Fine," he sighs as he stops the car at a red light. "I suppose you do have a point."

He then looks over at Adam who shivers with fear. "Hey, c'mon man. You're not really gonna listen to her, are you? Just 'cause she's your sister doesn't mean she's-" he begins frantically before Sawamura punches him right in the face, causing him to pass out.

"I don't remember telling you that she's my sister, asshole," he mutters before turning back to the light. It's now green, so Sawamura keeps up with the flow of traffic.

When you get to the spot where you had ordered an Uber from your escape last week, Sawamura drives the area slowly. It doesn't take too long for you to find the place and finally, he pulls over.

Once the car is in park, you casually walk around to Adam's seat and unbuckle him. You rifle through his pockets until finally finding a set of keys most likely to get into his home.

"Bingo," you smile up at Sawamura as he pulls the keys out of the ignition.

"Nice job. Now we've just got to find a way to get him inside..."

"Nobody's around," you shrug as you fix your husband into a more upright position. "Besides, he's only passed out drunk," you then smile.

"Right," he agrees as he watches an old man pass behind you. "We should get him inside so he can lay down. He's had a long night."

When you nod, Sawamura walks around and helps you carry Adam into the house. You set him down by the front door, not paying much mind to his body the second you're both safely inside.

"Let's split up," Sawamura suggests. "You take the bedroom and I'll look out here. Sound good?"

"Yeah," you nod just before walking off. You make your way to his bedroom where everything is quite impressively clean for a bachelor pad.

However, the room doesn't stay clean for long as you begin to tear it apart and go through his belongings.

Underneath his bed, you find a dark briefcase that catches your eye. When you pull it out you find a dozen of papers and photographs inside. Things not unlike what you received on your wedding day, too.

Immediately, you tear through the papers and read them one by one. Not only is this guy married to you, but now, you find out, he's married to at least six other girls.

You nearly barf as you look through the pile of papers. But suddenly, your mood changes from disgust to shock when you find a familiar name at the bottom.

On a paper way more official looking than any of the others reads:

Certificate of Marriage

This certifies that Adam Takahashi and Fuyuko Aoki Were United in Marriage On the Twelfth Day of March.

The bottom even has both of their signatures, proving to you that it really is the same Fuyuko that your brother just married.

Just as your jaw drops to the ground, you hear footsteps drawing near. You quickly stuff the marriage certificate into your back pocket sloppily and stand up to face him before he sets foot in the room.

"Find anything?" he asks when he sees the briefcase on the ground.

"Yeah. Turns out this wasn't his first marriage," you begin to explain. "I found a whole bunch of certificates in this briefcase under the bed. How about you?"

"Just a butt load of jewelry. Stolen I suppose," he nods.

"Awesome," you say sarcastically while letting out a sigh. "Now what?"

"Do any of those certificates have a last name on them?" he asks.

You bite the inside of your cheek as you lie to him. You're not quite sure what to make of the whole Fuyuko situation he just told you about earlier in the night so you decide against admitting what you found for now. You wouldn't want Sawamura to have to break up with his wife over something that may have happened in her past. Besides, he already knows she was married before so what's the big deal?

"No, they're all the same as the one I had," you shrug.

"Dammit. Well, let's go then. This was a waste of fucking time. Maybe I shouldn't have knocked him out," he shakes his head.

"Think he's awake now?" you ask as you toss the stack of wedding certificates onto the bed. "Maybe we could question him."

When the two of you get over to where Adam is leaning against a wall, the man looks up at both of you with pure hatred in his eyes.

"The fuck do the two of you want? You gonna kill me now, you fucking psychopaths?" he coughs out.

"No," Sawamura hums as he squats down to your husband and grabs him by the collar of his shirt. "We just want you to explain what kind of sick operation you're trying to run here. Are you trying to take advantage of single women like my sister? I think you might be the sicko here."

"Fuck you, asshole," Adam spits. "Get out of my house."

"Sawamura, it's over. He's not going to help us. We've got to figure something else out. Come on, let's go."

With a sigh and a shake of his head, Sawamura lets go of Adam's shirt and stands up. "Alright. You're right, Y/N. After you."

You grab Sawamura's arm gently as you walk past the two of them. Adam's eyes stay glued onto yours until you take your last step out of the room and your brother slams the door behind himself. Finally, you let out a breath that had your chest clenched. This whole thing just got a lot deeper than you ever realized.
