Chapter 36 - Lights On! I warned you!

Sun got up and went to the balcony, jumping off. I heard him talking, so I looked down to see him with a brown haired boy in a blue shirt. That must be the kid who stayed after hours, better keep watch of the light switch. I slid down the wire, going over to the desk. The kid came up to me.

-"Hey [lady/guy/person]! I need a security pass!"

-"Huh? Why would a little kid need a security pass?"

-"How about you stop asking questions and hand it over."

-"New friend! Please leave Mx. Y/N alone, they do not have anything for you!"

The kid eyed Sun, then ran behind the desk.

-"New friend! This area is off limits! Your going to get us in trouble!"

I tried to stop the kid, but he grabbed a pass off the desk, and it triggered the lights.

-"No, no! Why would you do that? Lights on, lights on! I warned you!"

Sun transformed into Moon, whos eyes were purple, and let out a creepy laugh.

-"𝙉𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙮.."

I heard Freddy's voice come from the kids fazwatch.

-"Gregory! The lights have gone out in the daycare, I'm not sure what happened, but you need to get to all 5 generators!"

-"Freddy?"

-"Oh, Mx. Y/N, how good it is to hear you are safe! Can you help Gregory?"

I sighed.

-"Fine, but I want an explanation!"

-"Alright, Y/N, we shall meet in later hours. Good luck superstar!"

Freddy clicked off the communication.

-"What are we gonna do, Y/N?"

-"Well, Moons not in the best place right now, so we're going to have to avoid him.."

-"Well, Freddy said we need to find the five generators."

-"Hm, well, these wires lead to each generator, maybe you could get 4, and I could get the final one, since your smaller and can get around faster."

-"But what about that moon thing?"

-"I can distract him, while you run around and get the generators.."

-"Alright, sounds good.. Be safe, Y/N."

I nodded, and jumped on top of the counter, waving my hands in the air.

-"Hey Moon! Come and get me!"

I saw red lights from the top of a play structure. I jumped down from the counter, continuing to wave my arms. Moon descended from the play structure, letting out a creepy laugh. As soon as he got close, I bolted across the daycare. I looked back, seeing him chase me, and behind him, Gregory sneaking to the first generator. I made a sharp turn the opposite direction of Gregory, and Moon skidded to a halt before turning to follow me. He was about to reach me again when I jumped up, grabbing part of a play structure and started scaling it. Moon was quick to follow, but I jumped to the ground, my ankles took most of the fall, but luckily nothing broke. I started running again, seeing a green light flash in one of the play structures, good, Gregory got one of the generators.

-"𝙊𝙝 𝙔/𝙉~ 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙪𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙚? 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙃𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙪𝙥𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚.."

I had to remind myself that Moon wasn't himself, no matter his words. I saw another green light, 2 generators. I quickly climbed another play structure, when I reached the top, I saw the blanket and pillows. I hadn't been up here in so long. I ran over to the blanket and pillows. Suddenly I was pinned to the ground on my back, facing Moon. The constellation on the ceiling started to glow and become visible.

-"𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙢 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣.. 𝙇𝙖𝙮 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚, 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩~ 𝙒𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚.."

I heard another generator being turned on, that's three. I shoved Moon off of me, and I started tearing up. I climbed back down the play structure, running around more as Moon chased me. I saw another green light, that was 4 generators, leaving one left, which was the one I was in charge of locating. Gregory ran back behind the desk, and I followed the last wire, and just as I was about to reach the generator, Moon lunged at me, tackling me. We went tumbling a few feet before we stopped with him pinning me to the ground. He raised his arm to slash me, but I hit his head, sending it spinning. He shouted in surprise, grabbing his head to make it stop. I started crawling away, when he grabbed me by the ankles, starting to drag me back.

-"𝙄 𝙃𝘼𝙏𝙀 𝙔𝙊𝙐! 𝙄'𝙑𝙀 𝘼𝙇𝙒𝘼𝙔𝙎 𝙃𝘼𝙏𝙀𝘿 𝙔𝙊𝙐! 𝙄'𝙈 𝙂𝙊𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙊 𝙀𝙉𝙅𝙊𝙔 𝙒𝘼𝙏𝘾𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏 𝙇𝙀𝘼𝙑𝙀 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙀𝙔𝙀𝙎!"

I felt tears begin to well in my eyes because of his words. I screamed and kicked him in the face, and he was sent backwards. I crawled inside a play structure to the last generator, slamming my hand down on the button. The lights flashed on, and I collapsed, curling up and hugging myself. I started sobbing, and I heard Sun yelling, and the daycare doors slammed shut. His wrist bells jingled as he walked around.

-"Sunshine?"

I heard him walk around some more.

-"Sunshine! Where are you?"

I sat up against the wall inside the play structure, crying. I let out a small whimper, covering my mouth. I heard bells jingle quickly as Sun ran. He peeked down into the entrance of the play structure. His eyes widened when he saw me, and he got on his knees, crawling to me.

-"Oh, no.. Sunshine, what's wrong?"

I let out a deep, shuddering breath, and my throat filled with more whimpers and sobs. I choked on my sobs a bit, trying to be quiet. Sun pulled me into a hug, stroking my hair.

-"It's okay, Sunshine, let it all out.."

I stopped trying to hold back my sobs, letting out every cough, whimper and other sounds of sadness. Sun just kept stroking my hair and patting my head. I spoke, and my voice trembled as I stuttered.

-"M-moon said that he ha-hated me.. He always-s hated me.. That he would be h-happy to see me dead.."

Suns grip tightened on me.

-"He would 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 mean that. He wouldnt even imagine those words. Whatever that was, it wasn't him."

I nodded, but kept crying. Sun picked me up and crawled out of the play structure. He lifted us into the air and up into his and Moons room, laying back down on the bed with me. He kept stroking my hair as I cried, until I finally calmed down.

-"How about you take a nap.. I'll be right here with you.."

I nodded and closed my eyes, leaning my head against Suns chest, letting myself drift off to sleep. . .

And I woke up to the smell of smoke.
