Chapter 37 - Bad Ending & Good "Ending"

Y/Ns POV

I woke up to the smell of smoke, and it filled my lungs. I coughed.

-"Sun.. Sun wake up.."

Sun opened his eyes tiredly, looking around. His eyes widened when we saw the smoke. We both sat up, and I tried to get up, but I felt weak, stumbling and falling to my knees. How much smoke had I breathed in while I was asleep? Sun picked me up, holding me close to his chest, and he walked to the balcony. The daycare was in ruins. There was fire everywhere, one of the play structures had collapsed. Sun jumped down into the ball pit, which was a mistake. Flames burst around us, pushed away by the wind of me and Sun falling. I coughed on more smoke, Sun set me down, taking my hand and started wading through the ball pit. I heard rebooting, and looked up at Sun, who was now Eclipse. My sleeve caught on something, and I got stuck. Flames started to surround me and Eclipse, I felt burning, my uniform was on fire! I screamed, I tore my uniform top off, leaving me in my undershirt, which had no sleeves. I couldn't tell if it was a good or bad thing because of the heat and fire. I coughed more, and Eclipse pulled me along as he ran. Everything was on fire, rock star row, Monty golf, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. I collapsed to the ground, and Eclipse stopped running, falling to his knees next to me.

-"Y/N.. We're almost there, just a little bit further.."

I felt like I couldn't breathe, there was too much smoke around us.

-"I can't.. Keep going.."

I coughed more, fully collapsing. Eclipse picked me up in his arms, continuing to run.

Eclipse's POV

I needed to get Y/N out of here. They coughed even more. Their body was badly burnt, and I hated seeing them like this.

-"Sunny.. Moony.. I love you.."

They took one of my hands, squeezing it tight. I squeezed their hand back. Their eyes were half closed. I found myself singing the tune Moon always hummed.

-"You'll find someone to make you happy.. But it won't be me.."

Their voice was barely there, and their eyes were starting to close more.

-"No.. Y/N.. I never will.. You were one of a kind.. Please don't go..."

-"I love you, so much.."

Their hand went limp, and their eyes closed one for the final time. I fell to my knees with them. They were gone. I felt tears already flowing out my eyes like waterfalls. I screamed as loud as my voice box would allow me. My body began to melt as the fire surrounded us. At least now we would be together.. Forever.

Y/Ns POV

I couldn't keep going. I felt weak as Eclipse carried me, and started loosening my grip on his hand.

-"You'll find someone to make you happy.. But it won't be me.."

-"No.. Y/N.. I never will.. You were one of a kind.. Please don't go.."

-"I love you.. So much.."

The world went black.

I woke up in immense pain. My entire body felt like it was engulfed in flames--- what happened? Where was I? I can't remember anything. There were bandages all over my head, and I couldn't see. I tried to move my head, but it hurt too much and I only moved it an inch to the left.

-"Don't move, they'll take the bandages off your face tomorrow.."

I relaxed, I knew that voice. It was Eclipse. I closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep.

-"Ready to take the bandages off?"

-"Can I do it?"

-"I don't see why not, you are made to tend to children, so you must be gentle."

I felt the bandages being unwrapped from my head. The bright light hit my eyes, and it hurt. I winced, shutting my eyes tight. The lights dimmed, and I relaxed a bit. The bandages were fully removed from my head, and I blinked, looking around. I was in a hospital bed, my arms and legs were completely covered in bandages, I couldn't see any of myself aside from my hands and feet, what happened to me? I raised my hands to look at them, there were some burns on them. Was the rest of my body like this? I opened my mouth to say something, but as soon as I tried to get words out, I started coughing uncontrollably. Hands reached out to me and took my hands.

-"Don't try to say anything yet, your lungs are still a little damaged by the amount of smoke you inhaled."

I looked up at who took my hands, and sure enough, it was Eclipse, and beside him was Charlie. I stared at Eclipse for a moment, then tears started to well in my eyes. He smiled at me.

-"Good morning, Starshine."

I smiled wide. Happy tears fell from my eyes. I hugged him tight, laughing and coughing as tears rolled down my cheeks. I was alive, and Sun and Moon were here with me, we made it out alive. The doctor who was there cleared his throat. I frowned and let go of Eclipse, and me, Eclipse and Charlie looked at him.

-"As heartwarming as this reunion is, I need to talk to the attendant and Charlie with some other people."

Eclipse and Charlie stood up, and the doctor led them out of the room.

Eclipse POV

The doctor led me and Charlie into a room with some other doctors in it. They had me sit down with Charlie at a conference table.

-"We suggest keeping Mx. Y/N away from mirrors for a while, usually people who have been through as much as they have need some time before seeing themselves.."

Me and Charlie nodded. The doctor pulled out a clip board.

-"We are also setting them up with regular visits at the doctors to make sure they are healing properly. They will be dismissed from the hospital on three days, and then put into therapy."

Me and Charlie nodded again, we talked about a few more things, and then we were dismissed back to Y/Ns hospital room.

Y/Ns POV

Eclipse and Charlie came back in the room, sitting down. I was just staring at the ceiling, thinking about what happened. I can't remember a thing, I was just laying down with Sun, and the next thing I knew, I was in the hospital. I didn't realize that they had come in. I felt someone take my hand, and I blinked, snapping back to reality.

-"Y/N, we've been saying your name for a while now.. Are you okay?"

I looked over at Eclipse and Charlie. I nodded, then took my hand away from Eclipse's, looking down at them. I looked at the small burn marks on my hands. I suddenly grabbed the end of the bandages on one of my arms, and started unraveling it.

-"Y/N!"

-"No no no no stop!"

Charlie and Eclipse shouted, both grabbing me. Eclipse re-wrapped the bandages before I could look at my arm. They both started fussing about why I did that and why I shouldnt do it again, but I wasn't paying attention. I felt dazed, and everything was foggy. I felt like I was falling, and the world went black.

I woke up with the lights off, the only light being the TV which was almost at 0 volume, Eclipse was slumped over, asleep in the chair, making those small snoring sounds Moon made. I noticed something in my lap. It was my Monty plush, a little burned, but almost the same as it was before the fire. I picked it up, looking at it. I pulled it close to me and hugged it. Charlie must've gone home, cause I didn't see him.
