You were a bit sad today. This would be your last night in New York for a while. You'd have to go back to Kansas with the boys and there would be no more city lights and sounds that would soothe you to sleep. You'd be sleeping with your tv on again for a while and that sucked for you. It's hard being a city girl in the countryside. You were grateful for the time you got here still. You even got to check in on your old friends and catch up a bit. Introducing Sam and Dean to this part of your life was a bit scary. You had to admit, you didn't know how they'd take this trip. For some reason, after everything they've gone through, you thought this trip would be the thing to break them. You just to make them happy. That is always your end goal. But surprisingly, the boys enjoyed themselves quite a lot. It wasn't often they got to travel for fun, but when they did, they'd always immediately go to a case. Barely giving themselves time to rest. But they had to admit. You were scary when angry. They knew if they even attempted to leave New York early for any reason, there'd be hell to pay. But they liked New York. It was bright and lively! They weren't city boys by any chance, but they could definitely do not hate this. Though they couldn't say they wouldn't hate it in the long run. But in small doses, they could deal with the city. Hell, they loved it even.

They could see your mood was a bit gloomy. You really did love the city for all its flaws and they were just starting to see that. They did all they could to cheer you up. Asking you to take them to your favorite places all day long. You'd been eating small meals all day. You were in that weird state where you were teetering the line of content and full all day. They suggested going to the park and getting some coffee or tea on the way. You could tell they were trying to cheer you up, and you appreciated being out and about instead of wallowing around before you left. You guys even walked through toy stores and goofed around, making your bad mood disappear. You guys stayed and played around in there for about an hour or two. Until the owners told you all to buy something and get out. So you guys bought the train set you'd been playing around with most. It was a nice gift for all of you guys to share! You were acting like a bunch of adult-sized children. But you were fine with that! You took the guys with you to the florist and bought a bouquet of marigolds for Allison and Troy! You all got on the subway once again heading to the shop to drop off the flowers. Once you got there, you and the boys greeted Allison, and Troy was in the dining room for once. You gave them the flowers and talked for a while before bidding them farewell until you came back. They hugged Sam and Dean goodbye and watched as you all walked back out into the street.

By the time you all made it back to your apartment, your spirits were lifted and you all had big smiles when you finally made it out of the biting cold. As you all put on some comfortable clothes and sat on the couch. They'd suggested something for the activity you were all supposed to do today. You were caught slightly off guard at your own forgetfulness. You had totally forgotten your own event. Maybe you did need cheering up. And you were glad Sam and Dean were there for that. You thanked them for getting you back in your little groove. They said it was nothing, but you insisted. It was nice for the boys to do something nice for you and make you happy. It seemed that you were always the one making them happy, making sure they were okay and everything. Sometimes they felt bad about that. They'd been used to always taking care of everyone and everything before themselves. And now that you took care of them mostly, they didn't know how to handle it. It was a weird change of pace for them, but they were starting to embrace it. Sam calling your name snapped you out of your thoughts. You'd asked him to repeat himself as you blushed. He said that you should all watch a Christmas movie. You clapped your hands together and gave a little squeak. It was the perfect thing to end the night on. And after some debating on different movies, you'd all found the one you all wanted to watch. The Jim Carrey version of The Grinch. You quickly found the movie and put it on, and soon the opening scene was playing.

An hour into the movie, you guys were barely focused on it as you were all practically in stitches. You were all making snide jokes at the movie. Then Dean said something that completely broke the dam for all of you. The movie played on in the background with the funny antics of the grinch making your loud laughter even worse (or better?). By the end of the movie you'd all calmed down and Sam turned off the tv. You once again stated your gratitude for them cheering you up today. You really needed it and you didn't even know it. They each gave you a hug, telling you that could see their "little angel" in such a bad mood. They had to do something. You smiled and told them to get some proper rest. You had a long drive ahead of you guys tomorrow.

You lay in your bed, not immeadiently going to sleep just yet. Committing the city sounds to your memory. You knew you'd be back, you just wanted to enjoy it for a little longer. Finally, your eyes started to grow heavy, and you let the city take you to sleep one final time. For what you knew would be a long time.
