Preference 9 pt. 4 Benny

Benny: You finally got a day off from your job at the hospital. If you’re being completely honest, you would’ve gone insane if you hadn’t got a vacation soon. Plus you had off for the weekend and your birthday was coming up soon. You hadn’t really decided what to do for your birthday but you thought about doing what you always did. Basically you worked, went home and cooked yourself dinner, get one cupcake and a candle, and drink wine for the rest of the night. 

But ever since Benny came in your life, you’ve been happier. You got to celebrate more. Not even for an anniversary. Just for Benny being with you made you do a private happy dance. Benny caught you doing it one morning, but you brushed it off and pushed him out. You heard his low chuckle on the other side of the door while you blush like crazy, glad he wasn't there to see. 

So you were sitting at home, and despite having a day off, you were updating some of your patients’ files. Benny, of course, had to work the day you had a day off. You got a fair amount of days off, but very few times have you and Benny had the same days off. Benny called you on his first break at the diner, telling you when he got home he’d have a surprise for you.

You kicked your feet up on your table and closed your laptop. “Benny, you know I don’t like surprises.” You whined.

“I know darlin’, but it’s gonna be something you’ll really like!” 

“Well, what is it?”

“No no no, nice try, but nope. Not telling you. You’ll just have to wait.”

“But it’s such a long tiiimeee Bennny!”

“Sugar, it’s really not that long of a wait. I get off at 5 so I'll be there in around four hours tops. So relax yourself, watch some shows, and I'll be home before you know it." Benny was all the while try to quiet down the overly excited puppy that was hopping all over his truck.

You took Benny's advice and caught up on your shows, you took a little you time and even managed to take a long nice bubble bath and put on one of Benny's t-shirts. 

It was around 5:45 pm when you heard Benny's truck pull up in the driveway. You stood up from your couch and bouncing on the balls of your feet, you waited for the door to open. It felt like an eternity when it did and you saw Benny standing there in the doorway empty-handed.

You first pouted, then ran up to Benny and jumped into his arms. You hugged him tight and you heard his deep chuckle as he tightened his arms around you.

"Nice to see you too darlin'." Benny sat you down on your feet. "Did you have a nice day sweetheart?"

"Yeah, was your day good babe?"

"It was busy as usual, but I think I can make your day a lot better. Come with me hun."

You follow Benny out to his truck and your heart beats faster. Your eyes tear up as you look in the front seat and see a little Siberian Husky

wagging its tail while looking at you as you open up the car door.

The doggy hops out and immediately jumps all over you barking happily. Benny stands behind you, watching as you and the puppy get to know each other. 

"Oh my gosh Benny!! Oh thank you so much! Where'd you find him?" 

"I was at the animal shelter. She was being abused by another family. One day she was finally able to escape and the animal shelter picked her up. She's updated on all her shots. They gave us some food for her. They gave her a bath too. Only thing she doesn't have is a name. I wanted you to choose that."

"Oh my, hmmm. I'll name her, y/p/n!"

"That's a nice name darlin'. How about we go inside and relax for the rest of the night."

"Thank you so much, I love you Benny."

"I love you too sweetheart." Benny leans down to kiss your forehead. "Welcome to the family y/p/n."
