Today you were free! You could finally say you did everything for the boys for Christmas. All that was really left was to open presents come Christmas morning. This had been a very fun experience for you, and you were sure for the boys as well. You guys hadn't had much of a break recently, and this was the perfect opportunity to bond with them and make them take a step back to recharge. Do something for themselves. You wanted to do something special for your "last day". Even though you guys would be opening up presents for tomorrow and Christmas day, this day would be the last of your own little list of activities. You wanted to build a blanket fort for the boys and have a sort of lazy night in. You'd just walked out of the training room, wiping the sweat from your forehead while heading to your room. Sam said he wanted to spend the day at the local library, just to unwind and you agreed to let him take your car. Dawn had finished his own training earlier, staying with you for your first few minutes in the gym for a sparring buddy. He was a little off his game today. He lost the first round, and you thought the next few rounds would be a piece of cake. He proved your teasing wrong after putting you in a headlock and back on your ass the next few rounds. Still, one victory was enough for you. You rarely got that chance.

You walked down the hall to your room and sat on your bed for a few minutes to calm yourself. You were shaking. Not from anything bad, but it was the adrenaline. Any time you got keyed up or upset, you always shook. That's why it took you a long time to sleep especially after a hunt or workout session. Sure you had nightmares, it was basically a hunter's trademark. But you just couldn't sleep sometimes because you were just too damn shaky. You learned over time that a good, long hot shower was enough to calm you down sometimes. So that's what you were going to do. You took pretty long showers. Like, maybe hour-long showers... You were never that dirty, but you just had a thing where you'd space out during showers. Letting the water spray you and then step away to do your routine on autopilot. That's why you always insisted on taking the last shower when n the road. No one wants to wait an hour plus for a shower after a hunt where the end result was being covered in rugaru guts. You got in the shower and started your usual routine and spaced out as usual. But instead of trying to process your last hunt, you instead drew up plans for how you wanted to build the fort. You wanted all the pillows and blankets you could find in the bunker. It was gonna be dense, but comfortable.

You'd finally gotten out of the shower and finished rubbing lotion on your body for moisture, you got dressed and immediately went to work. You knew that you of course wanted to build the fort in the Dean Cave. It was the best place to build it. Your own bedrooms weren't big enough for your desired size of the fort. And the library didn't have a tv. Dean's Cave was the only place to build really. You didn't grab any pillows or blankets from your and the boys' rooms. You knew the last thing you guys wanted to do was to put sheets back onto your beds. But the other bedrooms in the bunker were fair game. By the time you had made it to Dean's little man cave, you had at least 5 pounds worth of blankets from all over the bunker. Finding some pretty cool rooms on the way that you would definitely make over. For now, you had blankets. You'd go back for the pillows later. For now, you laid two blankets on the edges of the flatscreen tv mounted on the wall. Being careful around it as you secured the blankets to the tv's edge. You stepped back and looked around you. You had a lot to do before the boys realized what you were up to. 'Better work quickly.' You said to yourself.

About an hour of strategic building, taking things down and putting them up again. You were satisfied with the way you build the blanket fort. Now all that was missing was the pillows. You went around to all the same rooms you got the blankets from and started collecting pillows in the laundry basket you brought with you. When you'd finally returned to the Dean Cave, you'd half expected Sam and Dean standing there with their arms crossed, tapping their feet. Chastising you for wrecking the rooms in the bunker. But they weren't there for you yet. So you dove under the blanket maze and made your way to the center and placed pillows everywhere you could. You'd realize you forgot your special fuzzy and warm blankets in the dryer. You put them in there so they'd be hot by the time you all got ready to settle in. You put them on one more cycle to make sure they'd be warm and ran to the map room you saw Dean with his legs propped up and crossed on the table. You told him you had a surprise for him and Sam and asked where the aforementioned man was. Dean was about to tell you he was on his way home when the Bunker's "front door" opened and revealed the tall man. You saw him and practically buzzed with excitement. Sam looked to Dean curiously and Dean just shrugged, both not knowing what the hell had gotten into you. You quickly told them to drop whatever they were doing and follow you to the Dean Cave. On your way to the room, Dean protested and asked you what the hell you were doing in there, but you didn't answer him until you got there. Sam was just following you and Deann with an adorably confused puppy dog face. You told the boys to close their eyes.

They were reluctant but still followed your instructions, too curious to see what you had planned. You opened the door a little too forcefully and slightly winced at the sound of the door hitting the wall on the other side. You brushed passed that and walked the boys into the room. Once in, you closed the door and told the boys to open their eyes. They opened their eyes and Sam's face softened up and he smiled. Dean had a slack jaw gaze as he looked around his man cave. Normally he'd be upset or annoyed at such antics. But he wasn't. He was happy, he felt like a little kid. You waited behind them to see what they'd say, they'd been quiet for a while, which scared you a bit. Had you done something wrong? Were they mad? Your question was answered as they quickly spun around towards you and pulled you into an unexpected group hug. They could barely get any words out. When they finally pulled away they excitedly told you to show them the inside of the fort. You showed them how you built it and they were surprised at how roomy it was. Sure they had to crouch, but there was a lot of space under there surprisingly. You let them to the center of the fort where the tv was, where you'd already queued up a movie to watch with them. You would be watching the Polar Express. You and the boys got comfy and settled in as you pressed play. You got cold a few minutes into the movie and ran out of the room quickly to get the blankets out of the dryer. You barely missed any of the movie when you got back. All three of you melted into the hot blankets and continued to wrap yourselves in the movie. You fell asleep first but in the middle of the movie, as hard as you tried to stay awake. Sam followed you soon after. Dean figured he'd turn the tv down and continue to watch the movie until he finally tapped out.

All three of you were tucked into your warm blankets and soft pillows and happily snored away through the night. All of you were excited for what Christmas Eve would bring.
