Confetti burst into the air as Mina exited the restroom at the police station, celebrating their recent success.
"YOU DID IT, MINA! WHOO!" Jack's enthusiastic proclamation filled the room.
Mina responded with a giggle, briefly bowing in acknowledgment.
Just then, Morgan, their colleague, entered the scene, wearing a smile as he joined the celebration.
"Congratulations guys. Especially you, Kai! If you didn't come up with the plan to go undercover, then you guys wouldn't have succeeded!" Morgan commended.
However, the mood quickly shifted as Mina stiffened, Jack expressed confusion, and Kai, with a smile, clarified the situation.
"I wasn't the one who came up with the plan, nor did I go undercover. That was all Mina." Kai declared, setting the record straight.
Morgan's smile faded, and he ran a hand through his hair while nodding, a hint of frustration in his tone. "Oh. Well good job, Amina. Maybe next time, use your intelligence, and not your looks for a case, alright? Maybe Leonardo was stunned, but I guarantee no one else will. You got lucky Ali."
Mina looked down, disheartened, as Kai shrugged, knowing Morgan's reluctance to give credit to Mina, regardless of her accomplishments.
Jack, ever supportive, offered reassurance. "Don't worry, Mina. We're proud of you, girl."
Mina nodded, and the trio returned to their investigative work, examining the documents they had secured.
Mina's discovery of a specific date caught their attention.
"September 26, 1996? Why would Leonardo send a letter to his pilot on the day the Diamond was stolen?" Jack questioned, bewildered.
Mina's observation sparked a revelation. "Wait, that means Leonardo wasn't in Las Vegas on the night the Diamond was stolen! He's innocent!"
Kai, however, remained unconvinced and was determined to prove otherwise. "Let's cross-check the flight records for every plane that landed from the 25th to the 26th."
Mina pointed out a significant anomaly, her certainty growing.
"See, look! All the flights were ordinary, except the one at nine pm. It's the only plane that landed in the private area, and it's not Leonardo's plane. Sorry, Kai, but I think you might be mistaken about Leonardo, again."
Kai's frustration boiled over, leading him to slam his hand on the keyboard.
Jack chimed in, supporting Mina's stance. "She's right, bro. There's no way Leonardo could've stolen it. He was in New York!"
With an eye roll, Kai packed up his equipment and left the room, visibly frustrated.
Mina, taken aback, bid farewell to Jack and Denise before chasing after Kai.
"Kai! Why are you so upset? I know Leonardo is innocent—"
Mina began, only to have Kai abruptly cover her mouth with his hand, his irritation palpable.
"Don't even say it. He's not innocent. He's involved with the Diamond, I'm certain of it," Kai asserted, his annoyance evident.
Mina, in shock, nodded and gently touched her mouth, watching as Kai cursed under his breath before leaving.
****************
Upon their return home, the couple stepped inside, and without delay, Kai stormed off to his room.
However, Mina swiftly intercepted the closing door, her voice filled with urgency.
"Kai! Just calm down! I'm sorry for saying Leonardo is innocent, I didn't mean it! We'll still get information on him, I promise!" Mina pleaded anxiously.
