December 13th, 1998, Las Vegas

The smell of sweet frosting filled the air, though the only person who hated it was Kai.

One year.

One year of being father.

It was crazy.

Kai never expected to make it this long, let alone actually enjoy the concept and feeling of being a father.

"Dada dada! Loook!" Naomi said pointing to the cake in front of Nico.

Kai chuckled at his daughter's words and pulled her into his lap as Sora and Denise sang happy birthday to the twins.

"ONE YEARS OLD? My goodness, aren't you big?!" Sora cooed.

Denise tensed as she watched Sora entertain the twins and touched her belly in comfort before she glanced at Jack.

She was so nervous.

How was she going to tell Jack they were expecting?

"Ayo Nico! Get yo ass over here! Uncle Jack wants a hug from you!" Jack said smiling.

Nico giggled and ran over to Jack before slapping his face and running away in laughter.

"Son of a bitch! Is it because I'm black? He's just like you Kai! I don't ever want a son anymore! Nico's a fucking hater!" Jack said annoyed.

Kai chuckled and patted Jack's back in comfort as he watched the kids play.

This past year was definitely different.

But in the best way possible.

As the twins happily ate their cake, the smell made Kai wanted to vomit.

It was so familiar.

It smelled like.... Mina.

After an entire year, Mina was no where to be seen or heard of.

It was almost as if she disappeared off the face of the earth.

Kai, Jack, and Sora tried everything to find her, but to no avail Mina was just gone.

Gone without a trace in sight.

Kai remembered how different his life was when him and Mina were still together.

He was so mean.

He was so...evil.

As Kai was lost in his thoughts, the phone beside him rang.

"Hello?" Kai said confused.

"Kai? Look, I know it's your kids birthday but I need to tell you something. It's urgent!" Morgan said frantically.

Kai sighed in exhaustion.

It was his day off!

All he wanted to do was spend time with his family.

"Ugh fine. But just hurry up!" Kai said annoyed.

Morgan quietly sighed before finally speaking.

"It's the Asahi's. K-Kaya. Kaya is alive. She never perished in the helicopter accident."

As soon as Morgan spoke, Kai felt almost as if the air was kicked out of him.

Kaya was alive?

She didn't die?

"H-how? Why? WHAT?" Kai said tearing up.

"My guess is that she jumped out of the helicopter before it exploded. But, that's not the worse part. Kaya and Kazuya released a bomb from Mount Fuji.
After hacking into the security in the Valentina Hotel, Kaya knows that... you're here." Morgan said lowly.
