April 1998

"Oh my God! She's SITTING! KAI LOOK, SHE'S ACTUALLY SITTING!" Sora said in disbelief.

Kai hurriedly ran out of the room with Nico in hand as his belt fell off his pants and his sock was completely soaked in milk.

"WOW! Look at you Mimi! God Sora, I can't even get ready for work because Nico won't let me put him down! Can you hold him? Pleaseee?" Kai whined.

Sora chuckled and grabbed Nico from Kai's arms before placing both twins beside each other.

Though parenthood was incredibly tiring, Sora and Kai were the happiest they'd ever been in their entire lives.

Children brought out the best in Kai and he wasn't even the same person compared to last year.

Therapy helped Kai a lot and so did the children who made the long, boring days feel worthwhile.

"We made some pretty cute kids no? Kenji would be proud. And so would Katie. Speaking of Katie, did she ever answer?" Sora asked curiously.

Kai sighed and fastened his belt before laying beside the twins.

"No. I hear that Kazuya and the De Luca's are fighting again! I don't give a shit about any of them, but I'm worried for Mina. Jack says she never answers any calls or emails and there's been no public sightings of her for the past four months!"  Kai exclaimed.

Sora's stomach clenched at the thought of Mina being physically abused by Leonardo.

Leonardo wasn't a bad guy.

Right?

Sora sighed and laid right beside Kai as the babies drooled onto their faces before she finally spoke.

"I hope she's okay. I wonder what she's doing now."

April 1998, New York

The cold gel touching Mina's belly was definitely something she needed to get used to, although being able to see her baby was worth it all.

"Oh, that's a tiny little baby! Would you guys like to know the sex?" The doctor said smiling.

Both Leonardo and Mina glanced at each other and smiled, vigorously nodding at the doctor's reply.

The doctor chuckled at their eagerness and began moving the wand in circles before speaking.

"Congratulations you guys, it's a girl!"

Mina squealed and happily clapped her hands at the doctor words, while Leonardo just stood there frozen and smiled.

He was going to have two daughters now?

"OH MY GOD LEO! WE HAVE TO TELL GABRIELLA!" Mina said happily.

Leonardo chuckled and escorted the doctor out of their home before spinning Mina around in circles.

Mina giggled at Leonardo's action and placed his hand onto her belly while giving him a small kiss.

"I can't believe we're having a girl. Even though I don't have much experience with them, I still think I'll be the best girl dad the world has to offer! I'M SO EXCITED!" Leonardo exclaimed.

Though the past couple months had been rough, Leonardo gradually accepted the fact that Mina was pregnant.

By hearing Emiliano speak so fondly of his son and Richie showing his love to his unborn child, Leonardo realized how much of a blessing this was.

He wanted to feel the same warmth and love they all spoke about.

Every single day Leonardo went to work, him and Mina talked over the phone the entire time he was there, making the painful days a little more happier.
