Apollymi

"Apollymi," I saw Urian behind me, "I'm sorry, but I was told something. I wanted to speak to you about Artemis."

I turned to him.

Artemis? Kaori? I hadn't seen her for a thousand years. How did they even meet?

"Why bring her up, Urian?" He looked down at the ground.

"She said that Stryker and my human mother were not my real parents." I turned away.

Why would Urian have seen Kaori? What reason would she have to be around Urian. She's been in the human world. Why would Urian be anywhere near her? Why would Urian be in the-Strykerius. He asked me recently for something that could harm a god. I didn't even consider who Stryker could be targeting. If Kaori had admitted that she knew where Urian was, who he was then why haven't Styxx and Bet'anya gone to find their son. Why hasn't Urian tried to get in contact with Kaori for answers?

"My lady, how is that possible? I know I was born from my mothers womb." I frowned.

I smiled at the boy, "do not worry, Urian. I will get to the bottom of everything. Did she say anything else?"

"She told me to speak to you about it and not my father." That explains it.

Smart move Kaori, "I will take care of it, dear one."

I kissed Urian on the head and transported him back to his home. It was times like these that I wish I had Xiamara back.

"Xia," a black cloud of smoke formed, "yes, Akri."

Xia looked like her mother, "I have a favor to ask of you little one."

She bowed, "as you wish Akri."

"I need you to go to the human world and check on a human, Kaori Didymos of Didymos Law." Xia nodded and vanished.

Please let her be alright.

Kaori

I was preparing for court. Last night was terrible. I didn't sleep great and was still having problems due to the charonte poison and ichor. I thought of going to see Apollymi. I didn't know if she would be willing and I had a full schedule today.

"Mrs. Didymos," I looked up to see Eduardo, "yes what is it?"

"Someone is here to see you. She said it's important and your the only one who can help her." I looked at the time.

I had two hours tops if I wanted to squeeze her in, "bring her in Eduardo."

I smiled at him. I waited until he was gone. Then I bent over and threw up into the trash can next to me. I had been vomiting all night. It was always black and gooey. I sat up and took a deep breath. I didn't have long. The door opened and I smiled. The woman behind Eduardo wasn't human. I kept my smile on my face.

"Thank you, Eduardo." I nodded at him.

He shut the door. I looked up at the woman. She wasn't human, I knew that much. I couldn't pinpoint what she was. I didn't bother keeping the suit on. I stood and turned off the security camera.

Let's get this over with.

"What is your purpose here?" I willed away my suit.

I was in full goddess mode. She didn't move, it was like she knew I posed no threat. I felt like vomiting again. I felt the room start to spin. I sat back down slowly.

"What can I help you with?" She walked up to my desk.

She leaned over so we were face to face. Something about her made me want to vomit even more. I could feel it. I pushed myself back away from her.

"Who sent you," I was pissed, "I won't hesitate to kill you. If you're with Stryker I'll end you."

She smirked at me, "I find that hard to believe seeing as you let Urian live."

What did Urian have to do with allowing her to live?

"Who sent you," her playful demeanor vanished, "I am here on behalf of my Akri."

Akri? Only two people I really cared about were ever called that, that I knew of.

"Apollymi sent you?" I was back in my suit.

I relaxed, but kept the security cameras off. I looked at the woman in front of me. She was studying me. If Apollymi sent her, maybe she sent her to help. Or Apollymi sent her to finish me off. That likelihood was still a possibility, but I hoped it was the first option. I bit my lip and took a deep breath.

"Is she angry?" I glanced up at the Charonte demon.

She looked surprised.

I'll take that as a no.

I was bent over the trash and vomiting once again. It was worse and so much thicker. I would have to find a replacement lawyer. One I trusted. I wouldn't be helping anyone today. I wiped my mouth. Then I felt a hand on my back.

"How long have you been sick," I looked up at her, "since last night after I got home."

I felt her hand tense on my back, "we must take you to Akri."

I was across the room with my cell phone in hand. I dialed another lawyer I trained and trusted.

"Hello," I smiled sadly, "hello Micheal. I am very ill and need someone I can trust to take over my client. Could you come to my building and take over a case?"

I heard rustling, "I'm on my way sweetheart. You just rest. Have it ready for me at the front desk. You get better Kaori."

I'm glad I could trust some people I've trained.

I smiled and hung up. I went to my desk and grabbed the briefcase I had for my client.

"I will return shortly, please wait here." I got into the elevator and made my way down to the lobby.

I entered the lobby and went to the desk, "Micheal Collins will be here to pick this briefcase up. I will not be happy if it doesn't reach his hands. Do I make myself clear," the receptionist nodded, "yes Mrs. Didymos. I understand."

I smiled and walked away. Once the elevator doors closed my smile disappeared and I fell. I had no idea why this crap was affecting me so badly. I wanted to put Stryker in his place, but I understood. He wanted his father to undo the apollite curse so he has offered to house his father in the most luxurious way. He was tired of living the way he was forced too. I felt an arm wrap around me. We were standing and I was leaning against whoever it was.

"I need to take you to Akri," I shook my head, "I need to lock up my office."

"I already did," I shook my head, "no, take me to my office. I'll show you."

It felt like we transported there. The room was spinning and then I vomited into a trash that was put in front of me.

"You need to come with me. You shouldn't be this affected by the poison. We need to get you too my Akri as soon as possible." I was at the door.

I placed my hand on a picture of me. It changed. I looked like Artemis, not Kaori in the picture. I collapsed to the ground.

"You're a foolish goddess," the Charonte demon was scowling at me, "then let me be known as the foolish goddess for protecting anyone who may be in the sanctuary in her temple."

The Charonte demons face grew troubled. I felt dizzy and my vision started to blur.

"Oh, shit." Everything turned black.
