I left Kalosis after Akri read the letter from Kaori. I was so furious. I wanted to break something. I wanted to hurt her. I went back to her temple. I hit a pillar. I heard a gasp. I spun around. There was Artemis, no, Kaori. She quickly got off the bed and came to me.

"I'm sorry, Inu," I cut her off, "I don't want to hear it. You became my friend, you became important to me! So why did you put me to sleep!?"

She put her hands down. She glanced down at the ground.

"I'm sorry." She turned away from me.

"Sorry doesn't cut it, Kaori," she turned back to me, "I know that Inu! I know, but I am used to doing everything alone! On my own! I am not used to having people fight for me! I am used to having to sacrifice myself and protect everyone I love around me!"

Her eyes glistened with tears. I frowned down at her.

"That's no excuse to make a decision for me. I could've helped you." She laughed.

"You wouldn't have helped me, you would've stopped me! I had every intention of never coming back because of fixing Artemis's mistakes!" She stepped away.

"I would've, but you took that choice away from me! Just like choices were made and your life was taken away from you. You are just like him!" She spun around.

She looked shocked. Then she laughed.

"Y'know maybe I am. Maybe one day I'll be a monster who touches little boys! Maybe I'll be someone who drinks and uses drugs. Oh better yet, maybe I'll become so involved with incest that I will only fuck people who are blood related," her voice cracked, "maybe I'll worm my way into the hearts of men and then break them. Maybe I'll destroy families. Ruin innocent lives! Maybe that's all I'm good for!"

She had her jaw clenched. She was glaring at me with hatred. She had never looked that way at me before. I was shocked.

"You better not be here when I return." Then she vanished.

I turned to leave when something stopped me. The forest that used to be green and lush was desolate and dead. The animals were gone and the sun was covered by clouds. It looked like a barren wasteland.

What have I done?

I transported myself to the human world. I wouldn't go back to Artemis's temple. I would start fresh, do the things I could never do before. Earn my title as goddess. I smiled as I looked up at the Eiffel Tower. A tear fell down my face. I wiped it away.

I'm sorry Inu, Ash, but this is goodbye. I'll miss you both.

I left and never planned on returning to the temple.
