Salem Hospital / Kaylas office
Kayla enters her office she closes the door, she has Hopes file in her hands
She leans against the door and closes her eyes , (flash of kayla and Marlena helping Hope take off her shirt)
Kayla opens her eyes, tears start rolling down her face. She makes her way to her desk and sits down she opens the file, and begins to write , 2 broken ribs (flash to Hope wincing in pain as Kayla is checking her) , grade 3 severe concussion , kayla puts her pen down , she puts her head in her hands when a knock comes on the door
Kayla - wipes away her tears , takes a deep breath and answers who is it ?
Steve - opens the door , hey sweetness one of the officers outside Hopes room said you had left
Kayla clears her throat , I umm, I had to come fill this paperwork out
Steve - Bos waiting by the nurses station still , we thought you would be by once you were done
Kayla - gets up from her desk and turns away from steve to look out the window
I wanted to make sure I filled this out while it was all fresh in my mind, Kaylas voice trembles as she speaks
Steve - moves over to Kayla , he puts his arms around her, talk to me sweetness, it's ok you can tell me
Kayla turns around , she starts crying uncontrollably in steves arms, it's bad steve, I ve, I've never seen anything so violent in my career. Her physical wounds alone were enough to kill her. She has a grade 3 concussion steve , that is the most severe concussion a person can have I'm surprised she woke up after getting a concussion like that , Kaylas tone turns from sad to Mad quickly as she speaks of Hope’s injuries
Steve - her will to live is what got her through , her longing to be back with Bo
Kayla - 2 broken ribs, all the fingernails on her right hand were gone, gone steve! She has severe lacerations and brusing on both wrists and her ankle. She had bruises all over her body Kayla begins to cry again , it looked like he used her for a punching bag steve , I , I don't know how she physically made it through all that. Then I had to perform the rape kit as well , kayla shakes her head , it's too much , it's too much for her to bear I don't even know how she was managing through all the physical pain. I don't never mind the mental trauma of the rape and who knows the things he says to her before that (Kayla closes her eyes and remrnbers telling Hope that they have to take some photos for evidence , Hope opens her gown while kayla takes photos, then Hope starts to cry) I can't get it put of my mind, the look on her face
Steve - she needs you , Bo needs you , you need to be strong for them , you hear me
Kayla - how do I even tell Bo about all of this, kayla shakes her head, how is this fair?! How , after all thr 2 of them went through to be together , now this ? Why, why Hope ?
Steve - hugs kayla , as she cries
Exam Room 1
Marlena - you did so well, you know that ?
Now , let's get a nice hot shower going for you ok
Hope - nods her head
Marlena - opens the bathroom door. Would you like me to come in with you ?
Hope - still a bit disbondant shakes her head no
Marlena - ok I'll be right here if you need me you come get me or you call me ok , I'll be right here I'm not leaving this room
Ok ?
Hope - nods yes , enters the bathroom and closes the door behind her , she locks the door. Hope walks by the mirror getting a glimpse of herself, but she doesn't stop to get a good look
She opens the shower curtain and goes to turn the shower on using the hand she lost all her finger nails on, her hand throbs in pain again , Hope pulls her hand from the faucet and holds it up to look at if, it's covered in dried blood , swollen and red (she remembers digging her nails into Larry's face)
Hope takes off the hospital gown we see her back covered in multiple dark bruises as she steps into the shower she winces in pain and puts her arm across her ribs (she remembers Larry gabbing the shackle on her ankle and dragging her across the floor )
Hope puts her hands under the water, the water that runs down into the bottom of the shower turns red from all the dried blood that runs off of her
Hope stared at the water / blood mixture as it sits I'm the bottom of the shower
Then flashes of the attack start to go through Hope’s mind, she slides down in the shower
Closing screen is Hope in the shower crying as the water washes over her
