The Violet Wolf House hadn't been a very long run from the Blue Sapphire House. When Ciel and Y/N arrived at its black iron gates, the Earl was a bit out of breath and Y/N was feeling giddy. The Violet House was decorated in a much more gothic sense than the Sapphire House. The iron fence had been bent and warped in some spots, and the spikes at the fence stakes' tips were sharpened to diamond points. Two wolf-like gargoyles sat on stoops of stone, guarding the spiraling and creaking gate, and above it was a lantern hanging from a sign with the House's emblem etched onto it. And to add to that atmosphere beyond the creepy fence, there were several dead trees, dark bushes and gravestones scattered across the lawn. The path up to the dormitory itself was lined with rustling bushes and small, gothic hanging lanterns to light the twisting road. And to finish it all off, there was a noisy flock of crows that were settled on the fence and in the groaning trees.
"What a singular exterior," Ciel muttered as he and Y/N passed through the gate.
"It is certainly something," Y/N agreed as their feet clicked against the giant stone blocks beneath them. "Now it seems obvious based on their Prefect's appearance, but I must admit, the Violet Wolf House is rather eccentric."
Ciel nervously eyed the crows that were calling after them from the fence. "Artists," he shuttered.
"The best ones are the strangest ones," Y/N reminded the Earl as they trekked down the pathway. The farther they walked, the more the bushes seemed to rustle. At first Y/N ignored it, chalking it up to the wind that was swaying the creaking gate and tree branches. But eventually the noise became far too loud for it to just be wind blowing through the shrubbery. That was when Y/N swore she heard the bush closest to her begin to talk. "Am I finally losing it, or do you hear that too?" Y/N asked as she and Ciel wildly looked around.
That was when the rustling suddenly came to a stop. Y/N and Ciel both shared a look of concern, then the Earl nearly fell over out of fright. It was like they had appeared out of thin air. Some wore their cloaks to shield them in shadows and others had their long hair unkempt and flowing over their faces. And they were all staring, unblinking, right at Y/N and Ciel. At first Y/N thought they were dead bizarre dolls the way they locked onto Ciel and how gaunt they appeared. "Holy Hell," Y/N cursed when she realized it was actually students that surrounded her and the Earl, not bizarre dolls. Those kids had no idea how lucky they were that Y/N had paused to think before blindly reaching for her gun or her knives which were stowed away under her coat.
"Outsiders," the Purple House students began to hiss. "That crest belongs to the Blue House..." Slowly the Purple House students began to creep out from the bushes to close in on Ciel and Y/N. Ciel backed slowly into Y/N and she tightly gripped onto his arm.
"If they get much closer, run," Y/N whispered to Ciel under her breath as she slowly reached into her trouser pocket. If worse came to worst, Y/N could easily take down the entire Purple House without breaking a sweat.
"Hey now!" Someone shouted up from the house door, snapping Y/N's attention up to them. "What's two swots from Bookworm House want with Purple House?" He shouted. Y/N wanted to smile when she saw who it was. She didn't know him personally, but Y/N knew there was no need to be afraid of the boy. He had clunky silver earrings, a giant fluffy bleached deathhawk, dark makeup smeared under his eyes and a scar that stretched from his eyebrow to his jaw. "People who can do nowt but study can't just come strolling into Violet Wolf House as they please, y'know?" The boy sneered. He might've appeared a little frightening, but Cheslock wouldn't actually do anything to Y/N and the Earl, she was fairly certain of that.
"Go away," hissed some of the students surrounding Ciel and Y/N. "Yes... Go away..."
"Get lost!" Some chanted. "Fellows from other Houses should just go away!"
