That night, after they returned from Sebastian's office and had gotten into bed, McMillan snuck over to Ciel and whispered apologies for not standing up for them that morning. He also let it slip that he, along with most of their entire class, heard Maurice and Y/N both say the meeting was at 4 o'clock. That made both the Earl and Lady's smiles twist into mischievous grins once McMillan went back to his own bed. They had witnesses, plenty of them even. And if the mail was quick, they'd have one more advantage by the end of the week. Despite being labeled outcasts and enemies of almost the entire school, Y/N and Ciel slept rather soundly.
He had come as fast as lightning could strike. And he was somehow even more flashy than a raging storm in a dry field. Drums were beat and bells were rung in parade-like fashion upon his arrival. The ground actually shook as he arrived on campus with an entire entourage of dancers and servants, each one decked out in turbans and vests embroidered with gold. The dancers had bangles with bells around their wrists and anklets and arm-bands of flowers to add to their flair. And each one of them sported a vibrant red dot right below their turbans. The dancers and servants on their own would've been the show of a lifetime, but the giant beast of an elephant they were leading stirred the crowd even more. From the caps on its tusks to its headpiece and the tassels that hung from the box on its back, the elephant was decorated in more gold than Y/N had ever seen.
And sitting in his perch atop the beast, looking rather blandly normal all things considered, was none other than Prince Soma himself. He was looking out across the crowd that had gathered upon the sound of his servants' beating drums. The Prince had a smile as wide as could be and he looked absolutely ecstatic to be at Weston. He smiled and waved down to them while students whispered and gasped to each other in amazement. "I hear he's a prince from India," one boy gawked. "This is my first time seeing an elephant," another gaped in awe.
"Well, I figured he'd arrive in traditional Soma fashion, but this is..." Y/N trailed off and couldn't help but laugh. "Well, he's certainly going to fit in well with Red House." Just as she had suspected, Prince Soma was sporting the Scarlet Fox emblem on his jacket for all to see.
"The brand and wealth of Indian royalty is clearly nothing to scoff at," Ciel muttered as he, Sebastian and Y/N continued to take in the sight before them.
"Be that as it may, I still did not anticipate that he would come to school on an elephant," Sebastian added under his breath.
"Oh!" Soma gasped from his seat atop the elephant. "Ciel! I've come for you!" The Earl nearly jumped out of his skin when Soma called out to him, what little color his face had drained instantly. Ciel turned on his heel as fast as he could and began to stomp away, pretending to somehow not hear Soma calling after him. "I was surprised to receive a letter from you out of the blue!" The Prince shouted as the entire parade changed its course in order to tail the Earl. Y/N of course had been left out of the letter, so naturally Soma was not searching for her in the crowd of boys. This let Y/N fade into the crowd that was trying to keep up with the elephant without attracting any unwanted attention. "If you'd told me you would be lonely here, I could have come with you, silly!"
Y/N laughed as Soma chased Ciel, hot on the Earl's heels. In his letter, Ciel had explicitly stated that Soma was to pretend not to know him. Either the Prince didn't care or he didn't remember, because when Ciel ignored him, Soma called his name even louder. "Ciel! Hey! Are you listening?" And when that didn't work, Soma came up with a new idea. With the simple snap of his fingers, the elephant lifted its giant trunk and swept Ciel off of his feet. The Earl was plucked off of the ground with a scream and a gasp of awe and jealousy from the crowd. Y/N howled with laughter along with her classmates at the display. "Why don't we go together?" Soma proposed to Ceil.
