Bold = Translated German provided by the manga because I don't speak German
Ciel, Sebastian and Y/N stood still, frozen in absolute shock. While the young Earl might not have spoken a true word of German, he could understand the situation well as was needed for him to grasp that it was not the man who towered over even Sebastian who was the liege of this village. Instead, the one who ruled over every house in sight was the young girl in his arms, who could not have been older than the Earl himself. And even while she was stared at with pure disbelief from the intruders of her woodland village, the girl's emerald eyes showed not a single sign that she was trying in any way to fool them. She was telling them the wholehearted truth, which was that she, Sieglinde Sullivan, was liege of the forest.
Ciel looked between Sebastian and Y/N for reassurance that surely he must've been mistaken. But instead, Y/N only clarified it further for him. "She says that her name is Seiglinde Sullivan, and she is the ruler of this forest."
When Y/N spoke to Ciel, the giant man with his hooked nose and silver blond hair stepped forward, his liege's billowing dress swaying around his legs as he carried her. He made it a point to walk up to Sebastian, who he could tell was the closest to an adult in charge, towered over him, his nose nearly touching the demon's as he growled at him. "And from whence do you hail, peon?" The terrifying man's voice was as smooth as gravel and his face was contorted into an expression of nasty rage.
Sebastian, not faltering in the slightest, simply cleared his throat and with his characteristic, close-eyed smile replied, "Yes, well."
Before Sebastian could answer the man, the forest liege brought her small fist down onto the massive man's head. "Enough, Wolfram," she scolded him as she hit him. "Excuse us," Sullivan apologized. "It has been quite some time since we last had visitors in the village."
"A pathetic excuse, but one believable enough," Y/N scoffed in English to Sebastian. Ciel, who was missing the entire context, looked up to Y/N for a further explanation.
However, before the Lady could elaborate to the Earl, the liege seemed to have taken notice of him, even as he hid behind both his butler and Lady Y/N. "Moreover..." Sullivan said before trailing off. She seemed rather interested in Ciel. She looked at him as if she was memorizing every detail about the Earl, from the color of his hair to the eyepatch tied around his head down to his somewhat short stature.
Noticing his master's distraction with the young Earl, the monster of a man called Wolfram cleared his throat. Once he quickly captured their attention once again, he spoke in a much easier tone. "I don't know how you managed to reach us, but here, in our village of 'Wolfsschlucht', outsiders are not welcome to stay." After stating the glaringly obvious, Wolfram's voice became that nasty gravelly sounding tone once again. "Now that we're clear, go back to where you came from!" He ordered them with a scowl.
"We've been told, rather unkindly, to leave," Y/N murmured to Ciel.
"Yes, I could discern that much for myself," The Earl snapped back at Y/N. He thought for a moment before whispering to Sebastian, "Best to retreat and consider alternative approaches, I think."
"Yes, sir," Sebastian agreed.
Y/N nodded as well. "If that's what you wish. Shall I tell them we'll be on our way then?" She asked the Earl. When he nodded curtly Y/N cleared her throat so she captured the attention of both Wolfram and Sullivan. "If that is what you wish. We shall promptly be taking out lea-"
"Wait!" Wolfram's voice boomed like thunder, startling everyone and making them jolt as all the villagers who lowered their tools once again jabbed them towards the group. "You and your party don't seem to understand how fortunate you are to have passed through the forest unscathed."
