There was a knock on Ciel's study door. The Earl called to Sebastian, allowing him to enter. When the butler pushed open the door with his cart, he found Ciel at his desk and Y/N sitting across from him. Both nobles looked rather displeased as the demon butler wheeled his tea cart over to the Earl's desk. Once Sebastian was able to see the desktop, his eye caught the likely cause of the nobles' displeasure. There were two envelopes, both with matching wax seals that had been broken through, and one letter (most likely Y/N's) was sitting on the desk crumpled into a ball.

As Sebastian prepared two cups of tea, he overheard Ciel and Y/N murmuring to each other. Y/N was complaining something along the lines of, "But must we really go? Whatever goes on over there has got little to do with us."

"Perhaps," Ciel sighed in agreement, looking just as displeased as Y/N. "But we mustn't forget about the events of that dinner party... I fear that this could possibly be an indirect result of our carelessness with Georg Von Siemens."

"I could see that," Y/N admitted, crossing her arms, "but he was made to die. We tied up every loose end possible, and we did exactly what her Majesty desired." Y/N paused for a moment as she thought. "Drama in the German banking world has little to do with us if it has anything to do with us at all."

"Exactly. It is likely these events are not connected to the murder of von Siemens." Ciel similarly mimicked Y/N's pose, crossing his arms as well, the letter in his hand crumpling a bit.

Sebastian looked briefly between his Master and Y/N, his ruby red eyes finally settling on the young Lady, knowing she would easily be the first to include him and enlighten him on whatever it was the two were muttering about. When Y/N noticed the demon's lingering eyes, she said "Pack your bags, Sebastian. We're going to Germany."

"Germany?" The demon repeated as he went back to his cart to collect two plates, each with a slice of coffee and walnut cake. "You will be going there?" He asked as he set down the plates before Ciel and Y/N.

"Yes. We must investigate a number of inexplicable fatal incidents that have occurred," the Earl sighed, sounding rather irritated as he eyed the slice of cake that now sat before him.

"By order of her Majesty, the Queen," Y/N huffed as she too eyed the cake that sat before her. Even though she was clearly still aggravated, she seemed to be in slightly better spirits now that she had cake.

"She has ordered you, her 'Watchdog' and her 'Lion,' to go in person?" Sebastian said, also seeming slightly perplexed.

"The duty of the Phantomhive House is to police the underworld of Great Britain," Ciel muttered as he tossed his letter onto his desk and waited somewhat impatiently for Sebastian to give him a fork. "So why must I be sent all the way to Germany?"

"And why must I be expected to tail you all that way?" Y/N sighed as she leaned back in her seat. "I understand it is my duty to watch over you, but must I watch from Germany? That's such a way away. I can watch you solve crimes from here."

Instead of fully listening to Y/N's complaining, Sebastian set out two forks for the nobles while he picked Ciel's letter up off the desk to read for himself. As Ciel and Y/N began to eat and stopped their whining for a moment, Sebastian briefly skimmed over Ciel's letter from the Queen.

My dear boy,

There have been a succession of mysterious deaths in Southern Germany. I am told those of sound body and mind become suddenly deformed and then expire. Germany is the home of my late husband and mother. Many of my family members reside there. I would like to provide medical assistance if an epidemic has broken out, but neither the Kaiser, nor the German government have given me a straight answer. I am extremely concerned.
