candy canes and children || kakyoin x reader || :D

this was a request from my quotev! merry early christmas, and a very very happy new year to you and yours! thank you all for a wonderful year! :)

Kakyoin, your husband of three years, smiles at you and you wrap the gifts for your two children, Noriaki and Scarlett. It's Christmas Eve, and you put the two rowdy children to bed to allow you and Kakyoin to have time to wrap their gifts. Classical music plays in the background, and you sit with glue on your face, taping a nametag to a green wrapped present, a candy cane in your mouth.

"Can you pass me the red bows please?" You ask Kakyoin, and he nods, throwing you the box of bows. "Thank you." You smile gently, and Kakyoin laughs, gesturing to your face. "You have some glue on your face, cherry." Kakyoin smirks, and you blush, wiping the glue off of your face with your sleeve. "You really aren't good at wrapping presents, cherry. Look at this one!" He laughs, and you frown, snatching the poorly wrapped box from his hands and sticking out your tongue.

"It won't matter. Noriaki will rip it to shreds tomorrow anyway." You blush, stammering as you hide that one behind you so Kakyoin can't make fun of you again. Kakyoin's face twists into a smile, and he shakes his head, his red curl moving with the motion. "As long as you're having fun." Kakyoin smiles smugly, and you sigh before swatting his arm playfully.

Placing a Barbie doll in the wrapping paper, you get to work on taping the edges, Kakyoin taking a sip of his hot chocolate and staring outside, the ground white with snow. "Cherry?" Kakyoin breaks the silence as you throw the box into the pile, and stop. "Yes?" You reply, and he blushes before standing up and walking to his closet before pulling out something and placing it in front of you. "No more candy canes." He smirks, taking the box away from you. You frown in sadness, but do nothing.

"I got you a gift for Christmas." Kakyoin blushes and rubs the back of his neck, his lavender eyes sparkling in the candle light.

"Aww...thank you, Noriaki." You blush, kissing his cheek.

The wrapping paper is golden with silver sparkles covering it, a silver bow resting on top of the gift. Excited, you rip open the paper and gasp at the surprise. It's a silver chain necklace with your name in a cursive font and a red cherry beside it. "N-Nori! This is so sweet!" You smile with happiness, and peck his lips. He laughs and shakes his head. "Would you like me to put it on for you, cherry?" Kakyoin asks, his lavender eyes sparkling. "Yes, of course." You agree, and turn your back to him.

Kakyoin grabs the necklace from the box and brings it around your neck before clipping the chain into place. "There." He says calmly, and you brush and hand through his hair, kissing him on the cheek and trailing it down to the lips, kissing him passionately. "Thank you, Nori." You blush deeply, and Kakyoin nods, smiling as he takes another sip of his hot chocolate. "Now, let's get back to wrapping gifts." You say snarkily, and Kakyoin sighs, his red curl bouncing with his sudden breath.

After three hours of non-stop wrapping, you fall asleep on Kakyoin's chest, his arms resting around your waist. Little does he know that he has another child on the way, but you're not telling him until tomorrow, as that will be his Christmas present. He's been talking about another child anyways, and you've been more than happy to give him one. Can't wait to see his reaction, you think to yourself as you push a few strands of red hairs out of Kakyoin's face, kissing his plump pink lips.

"Merry Christmas, Mommy!" Scarlett, your daughter runs into your arms, giggling. "Merry Christmas, baby! Pick you a present to open, why don't you?" You gesture to the tree, now packed with gifts to your children's delight. "Yay!" Scarlett yells, her red hair waving with her jumping motion. They inherited their father's bright red hair. "Do I have one?" Noriaki, your son asks sadly, and you laugh, nodding. "Of course, Nori. We can't forget about you." Kakyoin replies, sighing as he brings a big red box out and hands it to him. Noriaki squeals in delight.

Kakyoin looks at you and gives your hand a reassuring squeeze as he smiles, signaling he's happy.

"Mommy! Daddy! Thank you!~" Scarlett tackles you and Kakyoin with a massive hug, her new doll resing in her arms. "You're welcome, Scarlett." Kakyoin ruffles her hair, and she giggles with delight.

"Woah!!" Noriaki smiles as he holds up an easel with a canvas resting on it, with an array of paints and brushes surrounding it. "Dad! You remembered!" Noriaki tackles his father, and Kakyoin's sweet voice laughs, his eyes shut. "Of course! You're just like me, after all." Kakyoin jokes, patting Noriaki's head as he runs back to his new painting set. As Scarlett sets up her new dollhouse and Noriaki starts to open his paints and set them out on his palette, you grab Kakyoin's hand and lead him to the tree.

"What's wrong, cherry?" Kakyoin asks worriedly, his eyebrows furrowing in worry. "I have a gift for you, now." You smirk, and grab a medium sized red box from under the tree. "Thank you, cherry." Kakyoin laughs, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. Handing it to him, you stand there in anticipation as he flings open the box.

"What--What's all this?" He asks, holding up a bunch of infant clothes and bonnets. "What do you think it is, Noriaki Kakyoin?" You call his name in a teasing way, and his eyes widen as he takes notice of the pregnancy test sitting in the bottom of the box. After a few seconds of silence, he gasps, and stares at you in disbelief, a surprised yet happy look on his face. "You're---!" He doesn't finish the sentence, running to you and lifting you off the ground. "Yes, Kakyoin." You laugh, and place a kiss on his lips. "You're pregnant again! I'm overjoyed!" He laughs, tears forming in his lavender eyes.

"Awww! I'm glad you are!" You kiss him again, and Scarlett and Noriaki run to you, screaming with happiness. Kakyoin embraces the children and doesn't forget to hug you and your stomach as well, kissing it in happiness.

The Kakyoin family is very happy this Christmas.
