When waking up with a nasty headache, or to Violet, feeling like she was on death's door, the last voice you'd want to hear bellowing around the house was that of Barclay Beg-Chetwynde.
"I do think it is awfully suspicious that someone was lurking around your gates, you best be careful about that one, I've seen it all really-"
Violet wanted to bash her head against the wall.
Even that would be better than hearing the voice of the pompous, egotistical old man.
She groaned as she hauled herself out of bed, not particularly enjoying the fact that she was making herself move. Stumbling across to her dressing table, she took one look in the mirror and almost snorted. She was looking a bit worse for ware, her skin being paler than usual with a sickly tint to it.
"Oh dear Violet, are you not feeling well?" the concerned voice from Kitty rang out.
"Euurghmm," Violet made some weird sort of sound as she put her head in her hands. Even Kitty was left questioning the actions of the girl.
"I'll take that as a no then," Kitty attempted to hide her confusion from her voice but still walked towards the living zombie slumped against the table.
"I feel awful," the girl muttered, finding it difficult to physically lift her body up as she tried to make herself look more alive.
"I know what you need! Whenever I used to feel ill, my sister would sing me this song!" Kitty began.
"Kitty do not worry you'll be feeling better soon,
The maid has got the medicine, she'll pour it on the spoon.
Kitty drink up nicely otherwise you won't survive,
And I'll inherit all the treasures you'd get if you were alive."If there was any time to have a coughing fit, Violet deemed it appropriate in this moment. She was stunned when she heard the last half in particular - she was always under the impression Kitty's sister wasn't exactly the nicest, but for the girl to not even bat an eyelid when reciting these words gave signal to a red flag.
"Kitty, that's not a song, it's-"
"I know that it is not completely correct. Quite daring of my sister to use words like 'you'd' but it makes for a lovely song," Kitty beamed.
"No, I was going to say, that's not a song, it's more of a threat," Violet told the girl with wide eyes.
Kitty didn't seem to take on the idea too well.
"She would never threaten me! Because sisters don't do that, do they?""No, Kitty, sorry," Violet quickly ended the conversation there as she didn't want to upset her roommate further.
"Hehe, I thought so!" Kitty giggled happily.
"Yeah... Now why is that Barclay Beg-Chetwynde here?"

Violet didn't know how Kitty managed to convince her to leave the warmth and comfort of her room. The supposed fresh air would do wonders, and if the positions were switched round, that would be the exact advice she would give too.
But Violet can be hypocritical.
She's aware of it.
"Kitty, shall we go back inside now?"
"But Violet, we haven't found a ladybird yet! They are my new favourite!" Kitty gasped, afraid that she would never live to see, or rather, ever see the beautiful spotted insect she had seen on a documentary.
"Kitty, it's Winter," Violet shivered, the cold air nipping at her vulnerable figure.
"Oh, yes, I suppose it is. We can always try tomorrow!" Kitty said with utmost positivity.
