Snow was always meant to make you feel excited.

Violet vividly remembered the joy that was brought to her classmates and herself when they were once let out to play on the snowy fields of the school grounds by the teachers. Or, when they didn't have to go into school at all because it was a 'snow day'.

A 'snow day' is the last thing Violet wanted in this moment. After the stress during the week leading up to this day, it felt like a slap in the face.

A huge slap in the face.

In a time of need where all she wanted was answers, a treacherous journey was now ahead of her.

"Oh for fuck's sake!" Violet had said out loud, jaw clenched, irritated.

"Excuse me, young lady! None of that language in this house thank you very much!" Fanny reprimanded her.

Violet jumped around in shock, dropping her bag she had prepped the night before.

"Ah! I forgot you were already awake by now!" Violet said.

"I'm surprised you didn't hear her," Julian was lurking about, peaking his head round the door to see Fanny looking disapprovingly upon Violet's exclamation.

Fanny scoffs and walks away, not having the time of day to deal with Julian's comments.

"Oh thank god for that, thought she was gonna lecture me, that really would have been the icing on the cake," Violet grits her teeth as she flops down on her bed in annoyance.

"Something the matter?" Julian half heartedly asks, sensing he should maybe try and see what was wrong as he walks further into the room.

"It's nothing. It's just really convenient that on the day that I was finally gonna get answers that the whole world decides to say no Violet, we're gonna take that chance away from you again. You should suffer. In the unknown. So yes, Julian, I'm doing absolutely spiffing." Violet angrily rants, hands pulling at her hair as if to take away the feelings of anger.

All he could muster up was an,
"Oh dear."

"Oh dear? Is that all you've got to say?!? You know what-"

Julian fled the room before he would take the brunt of Violet's frustration.

"Morning Violet!" a cheery Mike greeted her.

Violet paused in her path, hands gripping her cup of tea so tightly it was a surprise the mug didn't shatter.

"Morning." she replied shortly.

"Ok. You seem quite, annoyed about something..." Mike tentatively said.

"Mike! You're a genius! Such great observational skills!" Violet beams sarcastically, as Alison walks into the room.

"Oh gosh, what has he done now?" Alison asks as she noticed Violet's mood.

"Umm, sorry, why do you always assume it's something I've done?" Mike points out defensively, folding his arms.

"Mike, don't you remember the last time I was in a bad mood, and you thought that it would help if you-"

"Ok, ok, you win. I see your point." Mike slouches into a chair in the kitchen.

Violets continues to sip her tea, beginning to feel awkward as she noticed the couple's quieter demeanour, almost as if they were tiptoeing around her to not gain an unpleasant reaction.
