Alison knocked on the toilet door three times, hoping for a response. Mike and the ghosts had followed her closely and were now all stood outside the downstairs bathroom with her.
"Violet, are you ok?" Alison gently asks.
No response.
"Perhaps she ate something dodgy?" Pat wonder out loud.
"No Mary and I have been looking after her all day she should be better now," Kitty states, trying to think of what the issue could be because her friend was feeling less ill earlier on.
"The poor girl looked frightened as she ran away. I believe the matter runs deeper than a poorly stomach," Fanny voiced her thoughts.
"Quite right," the Captain agreed with what Fanny said.
"She was probably scared of vomiting all over the floor," Julian began, Robin chiming in with a horrific sound to represent the words.
"I mean, paying the cleaners, god forbid, I'd be frightened too.""I'll have you know, there is no such thing around here. This place is kept beautiful thanks to Alison, my enchantress," Thomas stared at Alison, awaiting a positive reaction from her, or for her to accept his hand in marriage right there on the spot.
"Guys shut up!" Alison suddenly said.
Thomas wilted slightly, feeling a sense of rejection in that moment. He soon perked up though with the ideas of how else he could compliment her.
"Violet are you alright in there?" Alison asks once again.
Again, no response. Everyone waited in silence before the door was unlocked and Violet slowly exited the bathroom. Her form struggled to hold herself up, pale and shaking as it appeared that a cold sweat had overcome her.
"My gosh, Alison grab her a seat!" the Captain suddenly said at the sight of the girl.
"Mike, help me sit her down," Alison said to her husband, and with arms supporting the girl they walked her back into the next room to take a seat. Even just holding her the couple could feel her shaking.
"The video," Violet suddenly said, looking off into space as she clasped her arms.
"What was that?" Mike asks.
"The video, the video," she says a bit clearer.
"I don't get it, I don't understand," Alison says as Mike quickly brings the laptop over.
He presses play, but this was the complete opposite of what Violet needed in the moment.
"No I don't want to see it again," Violet says shaking her head and so Mike hurriedly shut the laptop. The poor girl seemed completely reluctant at first to talk but now that she was, Mike didn't want to put her in a worse state by making her more uncomfortable and scared.
Julian watched from where he was nervously waiting for the outcome of this situation, and was beginning to have a bad feeling. Without realising, he rubbed the top of his chest, just above where his heart was resting, as he began to feel troubled. He had some sort of idea of what this could be to do with.
On the opposite side of where all the residents of Button House had gathered to see if their youngest would be alright, the Captain caught Julian's eye. It didn't take him long to realise that Julian was on edge too. He thought back to their previous conversations where Julian had revealed the reasons for Violet's escapades and secret missions.
He too, began to feel troubled.
"Alison, what's up with her?" Pat asked, staring down at the girl in front of him who was still shaking as she looked away. The question seemed to invite Violet back to her conscious mind and so she looked up feeling more alert all of a sudden. She noticeably began to take deep breaths to calm herself down, as if she has been doing it from muscle memory from lots of prior practice. What nobody else had noticed was Mary stood at the back and using her hands to gesture the deep breaths.
