It's been twelve months since the girls had moved on. Family and friends said it was the wrong time and that they would eventually find their way back to each other.

Billie wished that were true. The girls didn't leave off on bad terms by no means, they dated all through high school and their freshman year of college, but the girls knew it wouldn't work.

Billie was always busy with her culinary career as she traveled the world during the summer season meeting some of her idols while cooking and preparing traditional cuisines. While Maggie was always studying, she was majoring in science, and she never seemed to have a break.

Maggie loved Billie and Billie loved Maggie but when living across the country in different places majority of the year and those places rarely having cell signal it was bound to go down in flames.

12 months earlier

Billie had made it to her dorm room not long ago she was relaxing from her crazy experiences has her freshman year of college was ending. She took a shower and started to write in her journal which contained some of the best vegan recipes she knew. Billie wasn't a regular chef.

Although she cooked with meat, she had to be good in her craft mainly because she couldn't taste anything. Usually when most chefs knew this, they would instantly doubt her craft, but Billie proved her skills with just a spoonful of her food.

Billie wanted to travel the whole world and by the time she would graduate she would make a name big enough to release a vegan recipe cookbook. The journal had all vegan recipes and ingredients from every place she had visited.

Billie clicked her pen a couple of times before placing it to the paper and started writing until there was a knock on her dorm door.  Billie didn't share a dorm with anyone she was one of the first to save her name on the individual dorm list which came in her favor.

Billie got up only wearing a white tank top and athletic shorts as she slid on some slides. She walked to the door and opened it immediately met with her girlfriend of 4 years. "Hi baby didn't expect you over today or any day for that fact." Billie said staring at the girl who she rarely saw from being out the country majority of the year.

"Bil, can we talk?" The raven-haired girl asked. "Sure." Billie said giving the girl permission to come in as she closed the door and sat on the counter. "Look I didn't want to do this over text." Maggie said.

"Do what?" Billie nervously chuckled. "I don't think this relationship is working." Maggie said as Billie felt her heart shatter. Yeah, Billie wasn't around for 1/2 of the year but she loved Maggie. She was the one who she lost her innocence to, shared her first kiss with, celebrated multiple yearly anniversaries and now the love of her life was saying that this wasn't going to work.

"What do you mean this isn't going to work?" Billie said as tears streamed down her face along with tears falling down Maggie's cheeks. "This isn't going to work your away for half of the year we are too busy to make this work you don't even call me, what went wrong with us?" Maggie asked crying.

"I'm sorry I can take off the traveling and I can take you date, and we can-" Billie started rambling off until Maggie cut her off. "Billie stop, don't put your dreams on hold for me." Maggie replied.

"I lo-" Maggie started to say. Until Billie interrupted her. "Don't say it, it will only hurt more." Billie said looking down as tears kept pouring from her face.

"We don't have to end this on bad terms Billie." Maggie replied. "I'm not mad at you, you're taking my feelings into accountability, and I respect you I hope whoever you find in the next 7 months or even 7 years treat you like I couldn't and gives you all the time I could never make for you." Billie said.
