Billie packed her bags stuffing twenties in her pocket for the bus fare that she received from selling some of her beloved items.
She shoved 10 hundred in her wallet and pushed the wallet into a compartment into her bookbag. She didn't know what she'd do when she got to LA but the faint wonders and horrible memories of Tennesse were enough for the blonde to look forward and never come back.
Billie's departure was bittersweet. She adored her family mostly her mom and grandparents, but they had passed away years ago. She couldn't ignore the gnawing feeling that there was more to life than what Tennessee could offer. The ride to LA was long and grueling, giving her plenty of time to reflect on her decision. She thought about her childhood, her teenage years, and the confusion that had always lingered at the back of her mind. She never quite understood why she didn't feel the same way about boys as her friends did. Relationships with men always felt forced, as if she were trying to fit into a mold that wasn't made for her.
All she could think back to was the horrible times when she was a kid, and the blonde was ready for something different to be free from all her troubles. From her mom's concerning messages and her southern accent that reprimanded her daily to her father's rough hands that always seemed to "accidentally" touch her thigh even when Billie made it apparent, that she didn't like it.
No was never an answer when it came to him. Billie sometimes wondered if her father's touch made her shudder from being touched by another man again. She wondered how someone so sweet as portrayed by her father could take a kid's innocence like her own.
Billie finally zoomed into reality as she checked to make sure she packed everything. She wanted her mother to know that she didn't leave her behind and that when she left her mother would always be on her mind and that although Billie hated Tennesse she still adored the place and the people that lived there.
Billie waited on for the bus. The patience and loneliness already setting in but it was too late for Billie to turn around she had a dream and was determined to get to go through with it by any means.
Los Angeles was everything Billie had imagined and more. The city buzzed with energy, diversity, and opportunities. It was overwhelming at first, but she quickly found solace in its anonymity. She could be whoever she wanted to be here, without the judgmental eyes of her hometown.
Billie could be anyone, if she didn't like her name Billie was sure she could've gone by something else, and nobody would've known but fortunately she found her name unique and special which she loved.
Although LA was amazing Billie was working one job in retail and she wasn't making enough to do anything. She needed another job to make ends meet and at least find somewhere more permanent to stay than a rundown motel.
Billie got off of work one afternoon and walked down Sunset Boulevard she walked past a dark building with a sign that said, "dancers wanted" Intrigued and desperate, she walked in and inquired about the job.
As Billie walked in there where colorful lights and loud music blaring as men where on the stage fixing something that looked like speakers. Billie was in awe at the place she had never seen nothing like it.
"Hello, Can I help you?" A middle-aged woman named Roxanna said as she eyed Billie up and down. "Sorry, I saw the sign outside are you hiring?" Billie asked her southern accent not thick but definitely different from the local LA people.
Roxanna raised an eyebrow as she looked at the blonde. "You're not from around here, are you?" Roxanna asked. "No, I'm from Tennesse" Billie replied smiling. "Have you ever danced exotically before?" Roxanna asked. "Not professionally," Billie admitted, "but I'm a fast learner."
