Billie woke up at 3 A.M her phone ringing off the hook. Her beautiful fiancé sleeping next to her slowly stirring in her sleep. Billie picked up the phone before her life shattered.

"Hello this is Emergency Room California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles is this, Billie O'Connell?" A woman said on the other end. "Yes, this is she." "We noticed your emergency contact on Drews paper." The lady continued.

"Yes, that's correct. Is she ok?" Billie asked now wide awake. "No, she got into a car crash and was rushed into surgery she has been out of surgery for around ten minutes and doctors are afraid she won't make it through the morning. We wanted to inform you just in case you wanted to see her before her family pulls the plug." The nurse returned.

"Ok I'm coming immediately." Billie said getting up rushing around the room. Maggie slowly woke up to her fiancé scavenging the closet hangers going back and forth. "Baby what's wrong?" Maggie asked half awake.

"Drew she got into a car accident she isn't going to make it." Billie said as her voice cracked. Maggie hopped up out of bed grabbing her jacket and slides. "Come on let me drive" Maggie said grabbing the keys.

Maggie didn't care if she was woken up in the middle of the morning for her fiancé, she was going to do whatever her fiancé needed at the moment and if that meant driving in the middle of a rainy night she would.

Billie got into the car as Maggie put the key in the ignition. "She is dying Maggie." Billie said as tears rolled down her face. Maggie took her hand placing it on Billie's knee. "It's going to be ok." Maggie said.

Deep down Maggie knew the death of her childhood friend was going to kill the girl. She knew as soon as they step into the hospital and walked out Billie would be a different person. A more distant person Maggie saw it coming and the only thing she could do is stand by her side.

Maggie pulled up to the hospital in less than 10 minutes. They walked in and signed in and was met with Drew's brother walking out Drew's room. "Billie she is asking for you." Drew's brother said.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Maggie asked. "No, it's fine." Billie said her eyes bloodshot red from crying.

Billie walked in. "Hey Drew" Billie cried. "Hey, hey don't cry I'm fine. Don't do what you do when someone loves you. Marry Maggie on the beach she always talked about when we would text. Don't push her away because my time is coming." Drew said with a stray tear falling down her cheek.

"I promise I won't" Billie said crying. "Also make sure you give that woman kids" Drew said laughing. "I love you Drew" Bille said crying grabbing her hand. "I love you Bil-" Drew said smiling before her heart monitor beeped off.

When Billie heard that sound her body went numb, she just stood there as nurses walked in. She didn't move once. Billie felt arms embrace her. "She's gone Billie" Finneas said walking into the room.

3 weeks later

Billie swiftly walked into the door of the apartment she shared with her fiancé. She had been ignoring and avoiding everything and everyone since the passing of her best friend.

She walked into the room in her black turtleneck and slacks kicking her shoes off and placing her phone on the counter. She had just returned from Drew's funeral. "Are you ok love?" Maggie asked voice laced with worry as Billie flopped on the couch.

"What? Yeah, I'm fine" Billie replied casually in attempt to mask the pain she had been going through since the morning in the hospital, or the suicidal thoughts she'd been having or the self-harm she'd been doing to herself since she lost Drew.

Despite Billie's efforts to cover up her hurt a tear slipped down from her eye. Billie tried to quickly wipe it as she got up walking to the kitchen. "No, you're not fine" Maggie said getting up placing her hand on Billie's shoulder to prevent her from leaving the room.

"I'm just trying to be strong for Drew you know?" Billie replied as her voice cracked and silent tears ran down her face which turned into Billie breaking down on Maggie's shoulder.

Billie reluctantly turned her face to Maggie it was probably the first time in 3 weeks Maggie had actually seen the blondes, blue eyes. Maggie sighed wiping the girl's tears pulling Billie close to her.

"You don't always have to be strong" Maggie whispered in Billie's ear softly rubbing her back in soothing strokes. "If I'm not strong who will be? this is ripping Drew's family apart Maggie." Billie said as her tears slowed down.

Maggie pulled away from Billie looking her directly in the eyes. "I will, whenever you need me, I will be here, always." Billie rested her head on Maggie's shoulder with her eyes watering. "I love you" Billie mumbled.

"I love you too" Maggie replied kissing the top of the blonde's head. The girls stood there for a while as Maggie held the girl close.

5 years later

Today marks the 5th year of Drew's death. Billie goes to her graveyard every year sometimes more just to catch her up on life. Today was that day.

Billie sat down at Drew's tombstone. "Hey Drew, I miss you." Billie weakly smiled. "Me and Maggie have been married for 3 years. We got married on the beach. She loved it.

The ovulation process worked. Maggie is pregnant. We're going to name him Drew." Billie smiled. "Fuck man five years have passed already; I can't believe it." Billie placed rosses into the vase of her tombstone.

"I miss you. If you are watching over me, just give me a sign." Billie said waiting. "This is so stupid" Billie let out a watery chuckle before a butterfly flew on her hand.

The same butterfly drew had tattooed on her arm Billie smiled.

"I love you drew see you soon. " The blonde walked away the butterfly following her back to her car before flying off.
