Chapter 20

Chelsea was being released from the hospital today, Bucky didn't leave her side for a moment. Frank had snuck out after the birth, he left a note with the receptionist for Chelsea.

"Thank you for including me, she is beautiful - Frank" was all it read. She was a little sad, she was hoping he would stay. She wanted him to turn his life around, but the damage was already done. He was a wanted man.

Candice was sound asleep as Chelsea was getting dressed to go home, this was the most sore she's ever felt in her life. Standing was torture, but she didn't want Bucky to know how bad it was. She didn't want him to do everything while she sat around.

Bucky came up behind her and gently wrapped his arms around her, kissing her ear. "How are you feeling, my love?" He whispered before kissing her ear again.

"I'm in a diaper, Buck. How do you think I feel" she joked and she leaned her head back on him. He chuckled and rubbed her arm gently. "Sit down, I'll take care of everything" he said before letting her go. She went and slowly sat on the chair in the room. She was so sore, not only from tearing open during birth but from exhaustion. That was the hardest thing she'd ever done but she was so grateful that Bucky was by her side the entire time.

He was already the best dad, he couldn't keep his eyes off of his girls. He scooped Candice up from the bed as soon as he heard her wake up and held her, gently swaying back and forth as she fell back to sleep. Chelsea just sat back and watched the two, her whole world in front of her.

The doctor checked on Chelsea and Candice, both were healthy and ready to go home today. Peter hadn't went home yet, he tended to the plants and put together the finishing touches on Candice's room. But she was going to sleep in Bucky and Chelsea's room until she was a little older Bucky had built a small crib for her at the foot of the bed.

Peter was at the hospital bright and early to be there for their release. He was willing to stay as long as he was welcome, to help with anything and everything.

Bucky loaded Candice in her car seat and gently handed her to Peter, she was so beautiful. She had Bucky's bright blue eyes but Chelsea's blonde hair, you could already see the curls forming. She was so small, so precious. Peter would've killed for her, everyone in the room would've killed for her.

Bucky walked over to Chelsea and reached his arms out for her. "Peter has our baby, let me carry mine" he said softly, she wrapped her arms around his neck and he scooped her up, she kept both legs at one side and he held them in his vibranium arm. His flesh arm wrapped around her waist. She had been through a lot, she was stitched up heavily so Bucky was very careful with her. Bucky walked out with Chelsea and Peter followed closely behind with Candice and their bags. Bucky gently sat Chelsea in the back seat and buckled her in, he went around to the other side and carefully installed Candice's car seat in the middle. Bucky climbed in beside Candice.

"Peter is driving us home?" Chelsea asked as she watched Bucky settle into the back seat of their family car.

"I can't leave my girls by themselves, can I?" Bucky smiled over at her, that smile that makes her knees weak.

"I'll be careful, Chelsea, you can trust me." Peter promised as he jumped in the front seat and took off for home. He was very careful, it easily took twice the time to get home than it should have. Every bump they hit in the road Chelsea felt uncomfortable.

When they got home Bucky ran over to Chelsea's side first, he left his door open for Peter to grab Candice. Peter scooped her up and brought her in the house quickly. Chelsea was much slower, all her movements were slow. Bucky would've waited all day for her. When she was ready she wrapped her arms around him again and he lifted her bridal style. He walked her into their home and she jumped when she saw Yelena, Clint, Peter, Sam and The Dora Milaje in her living room. Everyone was crowded around Peter while he held Candice in his arms.
