Soda and I have been the best of friends since we were twelve and just last week we planned the craziest leap of faith that we would be taking in a few hours. We decided to try to go out on a date and see how it goes, y'know after the whole heartbreak thing blah blah blah. I heard a car honk outside my window and I rushed downstairs after I realized it was the one and only Sodapop Patrick Curtis.
I saw my date standing beside his car in a sweater and jeans with his hair combed back and a bouquet of roses in his hand. I saw my date standing beside his car in a sweater and jeans with his hair combed back and a bouquet of roses in his hand. "Hey, Sara!" Soda greeted " Wow, you look gorgeous",
" Hey Soda; Thank you, don't look bad yourself" I replied. He chucked, then his eyes met mine " I, I got these for you" he handed me the roses.
" My favorites! Thank you so much Sodapop"
"Of course, here, let me get the door for you"
" Thank you, Soda, what a gentleman you are" I replied getting in the car
He got in the driver's seat and we headed to the drive-in theater. We pulled in right on time to catch The Jungle Book by Disney, sure it's an animated movie but the topics found in animated movies can apply to all ages; I was the one to request it and Soda obliged as he also could see how points could be drawn from them. We watched the final fight scene unfazed and Soda looked over at me, he was a little surprised to see how easily I could watch a semi-graphic scene. "What? I'm not a frail damsel in distress, I may be a woman but that doesn't mean I only watch crappy cliche movies", I could see his eyes glitter and a look of admiration on his face as if I had just melted his heart. " Now, are you hungry? do you want snacks? m&m's? skittles? good and plenty? Crunch? I even brought homemade popcorn and coca-cola if you want" i asked digging through my bag
" no thank you but Jeez, you came prepared, Is that Marry Poppins' bag or somethin'?"
I couldn't help but laugh, Soda's quick comedic comments were always enough to make anyone giggle at the very least.
" Hey, um, Sara, I know it's a little abrupt but is it too early to ask for a second date?"
The way he scratched the back of his neck as he asked so flustered and scared I'd say no made me giggle
" I would love that!"
He smiled, " for the record" I started " you are quite the charmer, Mr. Curtis"
" you're quite a doll, miss Jones"
