I woke up to the sound of someone coughing from beside me; as I turned around I realized it was my husband, Sodapop, who was coughing enough for me to believe that he is sick.
" Hey honey, you okay?" I asked as I placed my hand on his arm;
" Morning Honey, I'm fine, sorry I woke you" he apologized.
" It's okay, but are you sure you're okay?"
" Sara, I love you but I'm fine" he replied with a cough
" You don't sound too good and you look very tired" I observed placing my hand on his forehead which I immediately pulled back as , to my discovery, he had a high fever, way too high.
" Sodapop Curtis, you are burning up!"
" Sara, It's not that bad; I'm not that bad off, I can still go to work" he argued
" You're not going anywhere, I'm calling the DX to call in sick for you and call in the law firm to let them know I will be working from home to take care of you. You are staying right here, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of sleep, you'll be back to normal in no time, you'll see hon"
I laid him back down on the bed placing a newly fluffed pillow under his head and tucking him in the covers.
" Thank you, darling"
" It's not a problem sweetheart, I just want to see you well"
He closed his eyes as he grabbed my hand with his and placed it on his cheek. After a minute, Soda let go of my hand and I went to grab my phone, dialing the DX gas station.
" DX gas station, this is Harold Smith speaking"
" Hello, Mr. Smith" I greeted the owner of the station, " This is Sara Curtis, Sodapop's wife, Soda woke up terribly sick this morning with a high fever. Therefore, he won't be able to attend work today"
" Oh! That's alright, We'll take care of everything for him here. Mrs. Curtis, your husband is like a brother to the DX team and like a son to me, He means so much to us; We hope he gets well soon"
" Thank you so much Mr. Smith; yes, Don't you worry, I will take care of him and his fever should be gone in no more than three days, bye now"
"Goodbye, Mrs. Curtis"

I hung the phone again and headed back to the bedroom to check up on Soda who was sleeping. I left for the kitchen and begun to make Soda and I's usual breakfast- scrambled eggs with toast and some grape jelly for him with chocolate milk ( we're both suckers for anything chocolate). Breakfast took 10 minutes to prepare thanks to my multitasking abilities I picked up while working in the kitchen of a restaurant. I plated everything and created a heart next to the eggs with the grape jelly my husband loves, as soon as I finished I heard him start coughing.
I rushed up the stairs with his breakfast on a serving train and brought it up to our room. " Hey baby, how you feeling?" I asked
" Hey honey, my throat burns a little but apart from that my sneezing has gone down a little" he replied truthfully, he knew I knew a thing or two about medicine considering my love for science apart from politics and how I've had plenty experience to help him.
I set down the tray as he thanked me and I gave him a quick kiss before heading back downstairs to prepare some tea with lime and honey for my poor husband's sore throat. I came back upstairs, placed the warm mug on his side table and gave him a hug from behind. He wrapped his arms around me sweetly.
" Thank you, thank you so much for taking care of me darling"
"Its not a problem honey, besodes it was one of my vows to you hen we first got married was to care for you in sickness and in health and I am planing to keep all of the promises I made to you"
" I love you Sara"
"I love you too Soda"
