A knock on the door jerked me from my book. I groaned, slamming down my book and standing. "Seriously Chase? You have a key!" I yelled, surprised that he was back so fast, yet also annoyed. Seriously, I can be alone for more than 30 minutes by myself!
I strode to the door, quickly unlocking it and swinging it open. "I mean seriously, I can-" I froze, my eyes landing on the boy in front of me. The boy who definitely was not Chase.
I backed away. "Blake..." His name slipped from my lips, panic in my voice. My eyes widened, fear evident. "No. No!" I screamed at his sadistic smile. I attempted to slam the door, but in my weakened state he easily shoved me back.
I quickly moved back, until my butt bumped the kitchen counter. Blake stood in the doorway, watching me like a cat. And I was the mouse.
He slowly closed the door, the smile still plastered on his face. "Long time no see Devy. I heard you had gotten hurt. I came to see if you were ok," he began to chuckle lowly. "Cowering as always I see."
I hated myself for my shaking knees, fear paralyzingly me. I closed my eyes, willing my fear to leave. I could not let this happen again. I couldn't!
Opening my eyes, I stood up straight. My knees still wobbled, but I ignored them as I moved my hand spelt and grabbed the knife on the counter behind me. "No." I snarled at my sexually abusive ex. "Never again." With a yell I leaped forward, driving the knife at Blake.
He yelped, the smile leaving his face and he dove out of the way. He wasn't quick enough, and the tip of the blade sliced his arm through his shirt.
I could see blood welling up, dripping through the rip in the shirt. Blake landed on the ground, rolling away from me. I stood in a defensive stance, my years worth of defense training classes coming back to me. He was the reason I took them.
He slowly climbing onto one knees, blooding sliding down his arm. His eyes turned predatory. "You shouldn't have done that."
Blake wasn't quick, but he was strong. I saw his fist flying towards my face, but I sidestepped in time. The momentum brought him forward, and I cut his side again with the knife.
With a yell of anger, Blake lurched up and grabbed both my hands. I tried to fight, but I was still too weak from the weeks I had spent in the hospital.
Then he raised my hands above my head, put them both in one of his own, and brought his free hand down, punching my face.
I screamed, my hair whipping and covering my face. My right eye leaked tears. I could feel the heat from it, I could tell it was already bruising.
"Little Devy," he cooed. Blake was insane. He brought me up by my arms, dangling me. I turned my head away, not looking at him, not wanting him to see he had hurt me. He would think he had won.
"Devy," he growled, prying the knife from my hand, throwing it across the room. I shook my head, looking down.
He snarled in frustration, walking forward with me. I felt my back hit he wall, and I flinched, knowing what will happen next.
Blake forced me to look at him, squeezing my cheeks to hard. Then his lips clashed with mine, his dominating and forceful. I hated the way he tasted, like metal and blood.
I tried to jerk away, but my head was already a pinned to the wall. I felt him move his free hand down my side, starting to grope. I flinched at every tiny touch like it was poison.
He started to trail kisses down my neck, but not lovely like Chase. His were hard and uncaring. I let out a cry of pain as he bit some skin, but he ignored me. Tears streaming down my face, and he lifted his head up and started to kiss them.
