Chapter 5

Brayden's POV

I normally wake up at 5:30 a.m. to get ready for the day but nope not today. I didn't wake up untill 6:45 and I was awoken by Ricky blasting music in my ear. "What the hell Ricky?" I yell at him. He points at the clock and it says, '6:47'. "Oh and if you forgot school starts at 7:15, so good luck getting ready." I jump out of bed and shove Ricky out of my room. I run into the bathroom and wash my face. I throw my hair up into a messy bun and quickly apply makeup. By the time I'm done it's already 7:00. "Shit!" I say to myself. My closet is a total mess so it was hard to find an outfit. I couldn't find the matching shirt or the right tanktop. Ughm This was crap. In the end I grabbed my UNC sweatpants and a UNC basketball t-shirt. I grab my phone and bag and hurry downstairs. "Took you long enough! Let's go!" Harvey complains. Ahh I forgot u have to take Harvey too! I hurry to the car and start it.

I finally make it to school but it's 7:25. Crap. 10 minutes late. I jog to my first hour class. Uh Jc. I open the door of English and everyone turns to look at me. Jc stops explaining something about a book and looks at me. "Well hello Ms. Smith. Nice of you to join us. Before I was rudely interrupted, I was talking about your first book assignment. You can take your seat now. Oh and I will need you to come see me after class" I realized I was stoll standing in the door was and hurried to my desk. What was Jc so cranky about? Did I do something last night?

At the end of class I walk up to JC's desk. "What the hell? Why are you so hard on me?" I say frustrated. "Damn. You look hot when you're mad." He smirks. After giving him a mad look he sighs, closes the door, and says, "If you were another student I would have been that way. I can't just be all nice and happy for you. It's so hard to not run up to you in the middle of class and do this," He cups my chin and plants a warm, passionate kiss on my lips. "Hehe. We are gonna get in so much trouble." I say pulling away. "Not if we don't get caught. Now walk out all sad and down like I just gave you a stern talking." I walk slowly to the door. He slaps my butt just before I reach the door. I giggle and put my sad face back on. I walk out and head over to Devin. "So how's life in the land of love?" She says. Like she doesn't know. "More like how's life with Chase? Your new beach hottie? How did the date go?" We start walking to our next class. "The date was amazing. I really like him." She laughed and he phone buzzed. I looked over her shoulder and sa Chase texted her. She looks at me and I wink heading into my classroom.

I get a text from Jc that says,Jc: Come to my place tonight. I'm cooking you dinner! I reply with an okay.

I walk through the door way into my house and hear Broaden crying. I rush into his room and see him laying on the ground. "Shhh, baby what's the matter?" I lift him up and rock him gently. He finally quiets down and I lay him back in his crib. He falls asleep. Quickly and quietly, I head out of his room and into the kitchen. My mom is at the table helping Harvey with his homework. "Hi honey. How was school?" She asks turning to me. "Fine. Besides the fact I was 10 minutes later." I say back rather rudely. "Honey that wasn't my fault. Okay so tonight your dad and I are going to be gone for a while. And your responsible for Broaden. "What no! I have plans with Devin and Shawn!" I had to lie. "I'm sorry." She says as she heads up to her room. I walk outside to the backyard. I dial Jc's number.

Jc: Hello?

Me:Hey it's me. Sorry I can't come tonight. I have to babysit Broaden. Another night?

Jc: No tonight. Just bring Broaden. I love little kids. Just come by at 7. I hope you like Grilled cheese sandwiches because that's all I can make!

Me: Haha good! I love them. See you later. Bye babe!

At 6:00 I started getting ready. I put on my Starbucks tank top and some jean shorts. I put on my white vans. I walk into the bathroom to do my hair. ny hair was braided back with little braids pinned to it. After I fixed my makeup, I put on some earings. At 6:50 I put Broaden in his car seat and headed to Jc's apartment.

When I get there Broaden starts to get fussy. I couldn't calm him down. Jc opened the door with his amazing eyes staring at me. He closed the door behind me and gave me a quick peck on the lips. "What's wrong?" He says looking at Broaden. "I don't know, he just got really fussy all the sudden." "Well let me take him" JC said grabbing Broaden out of my arms. He started rocking him and soon he stopped fussing. "Wow, you're like the Baby Whisperer."He laughs and sets him down on the floor. Jc goes into his room and comes back with some toy cars. "I had these when I was little." After grabbing our food, he sits down next to me on the couch. We finish eating and put on a movie. I suggle up to him and lay my head on his chest.

It ended up being 12:30 before we went home. Broaden was fast asleep. I walk to my room and jump in bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow I'm out. Ot wasn't 5 minutes that I was asleep before I got a tezt message. It was from Blake again.

Blake: Damn girl. The beach, the school, and now his apartment? Wow. Don't act like nothings happening. The next time I see you two together something might happen. You'll leave this year with a diploma and he'll leave with an orange jumpsuit if I have anything to do with it. Now if you want your little secret to stay a secret, I need $10,000 by Friday at midnight. Thanks! Have a goodnight.
