Chapter 6

Brayden's POV

I wake up slowly pick myself up out of bed. I got no sleep last night. I couldn't stop thinking about what Blake said. How the heck am going to get $10, 000?! I find a guy I really like and now everything is ruined. I start to cry. I decide to call Jc.

Jc: Brayden? Baby? Are you okay, why are you crying?

Me: Okay so last night I got a text from Blake that said the he is going to tell the principal about us if I don't cough up $10,000 by tomorrow. Life is crap.

Jc: Okay I am so quiting. I'm resigning today. If I can't be with the girl I love then what's the point of even being here?

Wait, did he just say he loved me?

Jc: Wait, that, what, nevermind.

He hung up and I started to get ready for school. I put on the shirt Jc gave me at the beach the day we met. It's a shirt with a cloud on it that says 'Stay Cloudy'. Then I put on my white jean shorts and some blue vans. After straightening my hair and doing my makeup, I head down stairs to the kitchen. When I walk in Ricky is telling a story. "So then I heard that Mr. Caylen the English teacher is hooking up with one of his students." I stop dead in my tracks.

"Ricky I'm sure that isn't true. Someone could get in so much trouble so don't go spreading that rumor around." My dad said moving some sausage onto my plate. "Honey come sit down." I realized I was standing wide eyed. I slowly shuffled my feet over to the bar.

When I got to school, I found Devin standing by her locker. There was a boy standing with her. Devin saw me and waved. The boy turned and looked when I realized it was Chase. "Hey Chase what's up?" I say walking over. "Hey guess what my mom made me transfer schools." I smile. "Awesome! Okay well I gotta get to class." I wink at Devin and she nods.

As I walk early into class I see a young woman sitting at Jc's desk. "Um hi. Where is Mr. Caylen?" I ask standing at the door. "He isn't here today. It's just me. Why do you need something?" She asked rather rudely. "No sorry." I said walking to my seat. Soon students started piling in. The bell finally rang and class began. After about 20 minutes the teacher gets a phone call. When she hangs up she says "Brayden, Mr Rogers would like to see you." I nod and head down to the principal's office.

When I get in Mr. Rogers pull me into his office. "Brayden please sit. Now I have been informed by an anonymous person that you are having a relationship with Mr. Caylen? I do hope you know that if this is true you are in a boat load of trouble. Is this true?" I feel the slight erdge to cry. I bite my lip to hold back the tears that were forming in my eyes. "Well is it?" He asked again. "A relationship? With a teacher? Seriously? Oh heck no! I would never do that. Mr. Caylen and my cousin went to school together so I do see him occasionally." I lied. Come to think of it, I've become good at acting lately. "Okay well thank you for your time. Sorry for this. You may head back to class now." I get up and walk back to class. I stop in the hallway and let out a huge sigh of relief. A tear slips down my cheek but I keep walking.

~~Skip School~~

I walk back to my locker and open it. A note falls out of my locker. Picking it up off the floor I see Shawn walk my way. I open it and realize it's a picture. A picture. And it's of. Me and Jc kissing. I flipped it over and saw a note. "Watch it girl. Lying gets you nowhere. -B"

'B' I'm guessing stands for Blake. Shawn walks up and I quickly shove the picture in my pocket. "Hey Brayden." Shawn says kissing my forehead. I don't mind him kissing my forehead because he does it a lot. "What's wrong?" He asks. A tear falls and I realize I'm crying. "Someone knows about Jc and I and they are threatening to tell everyone." He wraps his arms around me and I bury my face into his chest. "Shh please don't cry." He says. I pull awatly, wipe the tears, fic my hair, and walk next to Shawn meeting Chase and Devin half way doen the hall. We all walk confidently down the hall and out the doors of that hell hole called school.
