Chapter 12

I don't even get it. He answered my email. Wanna know what it said? It said, "ok." ok? ok! JUST OK?! I'm just done. I've tried and tried to help.

Ahh yes school. My favorite. Psh, whatever. I walk into the doors wearing my school colors because this week was homecoming spirit week. Tonight is the homecoming dance after the basketball game. And sone guy asked me, he cute but definitely not my type. I said no, because im not even going. Shawn, Devin and I are having our horror movie, ice cream, pizza sleep over we have every month. I mean a weekend with you best friends? What's better than that?

At my locker was Shawn with a stuffed bear. "What's this?" I laughed. "Well I know that Aaron broke up with you so here's my please be happy again gift." He said handing me the bear. "Awe thanks Shawn." I said giving him a big hug. After I put it in my locker and grabbed my books I headed to class.

When I walk in I'm the only one. Jc is setting out papers on the desks. "Uh goodmorning Ms. Smith. How are you?" I scoff and roll my eyes. "Just fine." I say as I sit down.

I watch Jc closely as he walks around the class and then closes the door. I puzzled look covers my face as I wonder why he closed the door. He starts to walk over to me. He gets inches away from my face and for I split second I think he's gonna kiss me. Jc places his hand on my chin and tilts my head up. "I love you too." Then places his two lips upon mine sending chills up my spine. Just as he pulls away a knock sounds from the door.

He walks over and opens it as I pull out a book pretending to read. I'm actually screaming inside. Did he seriously just freaking kiss me?! Wait. Is he still dating Payton? What that was 1, 2 months ago? Ugh life's so complicated.

Devin's POV

The cafeteria is packed. I quickly make my way to my table that I usually sat at. Which sat, me, Chase, Brayden, Shawn, and Alex, Shawn's brother.

When I get over there, Chase grabs my hips and sits me down on his lap. "Ahh there's my beautiful girl." He says kissing my cheek. I giggle. "How's are you," he asked, his breath making me shiver as it brushed over my neck. "Besides the fact my boyfriend won't let me sit by my best friend, I'm fine," I say with a laugh, and I could feel his chest rise and fall with laughter. "Your perfectly fine, I'm sure Brayden can deal without you for a day or two," he spoke, and I turned my head to kiss him.

When I pulled away, I caught some girls looking over at us with jealously In their eyes. I raised my eyebrows at them, and they quickly turned back to their food. Except one, who flashed me a glare of anger before turning to speak to her friends. I shook my head, turning back to the epic story Shawn was telling.

I sighed, and leaned my head back, completely content to listen to Chase's heartbeat. I felt a tap on my arm and opened one eye to look at Bray, who was making some very inappropriate gestures. I flipped her off and went back to resting, listening to Chase's heartbeat and the sound of Brayden laughing.

Skip school

"Let's go," I told Chase, pulling him along. Laughing, he follows. "Bye Bray!!" I yell over my shoulder before unlocking my car and getting in as Chase followed suit. He pulled his shades on, then his seatbelt. As I click mine I to place, I laughed. "Mr. Cool huh?" I asked, and he flashed a grin. "You know it!"

I rolled my eyes as I started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. As we go onto the road, Chase grabbed my hand from the wheel, leaving me with one to steer. "Are you going to tell me where we're going?" He asked in a husky voice that sent goosebumps down my spine. "You'll see," was all I said, turning onto the highway.

"Dev?" I heard a hint of hesitation in Chase's voice, and I glanced at him. "What?" I asked gently, concerned laced within the words.

"I-." That was as far as he got.

I didn't see the semi come barreling out of nowhere from a side street, crashing into the driver side door. I heard screaming, and if they were mine or Chase's, I didn't know. There was a loud boom, and something that sounded like glass shattering. The world was spinning and spinning, and I felt like I was about to throw up.

"DEVIN!!" I heard an absolutely terrified voice to my right. I tired to move, but my body screamed with pain. Then I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head, and then the darkness consumed me.
