Brayden's POV
Her still body lay asleep on her bed. She's so fragile.
Her eyes open and they skip to me. Fear covers her face as she retracts and pushes me away.
"Dev, Devin. It's be Brayden. You're safe Dev. Blake's gone."
It was almost as she didn't even hear me. I nodded and left the room, only to have my back fall against the door as I sink down in an ocean of tears.
I had called her mother. She told me they would be catching the next flight home and to not leave her side. I haven't. I wonder what will happen.
Will they send her away? Find her professional help? Take her out of school? I don't know but I can't let them separate me from her.
We've been friends forever. She's my ride or die. My other half. I'd die for her, and kill for her. Heck I'd go gay for her.
Why? Why did it have to be her? She's so fragile. I know she's brave and a strong girl but she had been through so much in the last few months.
It should have been me.

"Brayden?" A familiar voice rang in my ears.
I didn't even notice I fell asleep. Chase is leaning over me.
"Sorry, I just couldn't take it any longer. I needed to see her." I nodded in understanding.
"I don't know how she'll take it but approach very slowly and keep some distance. Know that she might not want to see or talk to any guy for a while." The light in his face faded, a low look on his face.
He nodded and put a brave look on his face. Hoping to regain his strength. The door creaking open, Chase trying to be calm and quiet.
Chase's POV
Oh my gosh. She looks so small laying there. So helpless and vulnerable.
"Babygirl.."
She moved around turning to her side, facing me. Those long eyelashes fluttered open revealing her arctic blue eyes. So ice blue the could freeze you faster than medusa.
I could see the fear in her eyes as she focused on me. I could tell she hated me.
"Devin, Devin. Please no. It's only me. I'm not gonna hurt you." The tears fell. They couldn't stop. I felt like a baby for crying, but my girl was worth every stab.
She sat motionless with a look of horror painted replacing her beautiful smiley face.
I looked at her, stood up, and said goodbye for what felt like the last time.

What was I thinking? I'd go in there after she just got raped by her ex-boyfriend and she'd be fine and love me again?
I'm so fucking stupid. I don't know why I thought this would last forever.
She'll get better then realize she doesn't want to date me. She's break up with me and I don't know what will happen after that.
I just want her. I want her to want me back. I love her. I've never loved anyone this much. I don't know what's gotten into me, but I'm obsessed with this girl. She's all I think about.
I'm in love with her.
I love everything about her. The way her curls fall in her face. Her cute glasses she wears at night. Not to mention when she nuzzles her face in my neck and gives me small kisses there.
I just hope she can forgive me for what I'm about to do.
The blade is so cold. The blood is so warm. The darkness is so overpowering...
Shawn's POV
"911 what's your emergency?"
"Um hi, uh my friend is unconscious and I can't get him to wake up. He's still alive, he has a weak pulse." My voice cracked, almost to the point of tears.
"Okay sir, can you determine the cause of the unconsciousness?"
"Um, he's lost a lot of blood. It looks like he cut his wrists."
"Ok, thank you. Please stay on the line, an ambulance is headed your way."
"O, okay." I trembled.
Five minutes later
Brayden and I sit on the front stairs of chases house. We watch the flashing lights fade and the sound of sirens slip away as thy drive off with Chase.
"What happened?" Brayden questioned as we got in my car.
"I called him a few times and he didn't answer, so I came to his house to see what happened. When I got here I found him in the bathroom on the floor. He wasn't responding. There was blood on a towel and on the floor and on his clothes and just everywhere. I called 911. and then I called you." I wiped tears out of my eyes. I pulled out of the driveway and we headed to the hospital to meet Chase's parents.
"What's gonna happen now?"
"I'm not sure. Chase and Devin's relationship is deteriorating. Devin doesn't trust anyone and Chase hates himself because of it. He was telling me last night that he feels like he failed at saving her."
"He did not fail. Without him it would have gotten a lot worse. She might have died." Brayden touched my shoulder.
The rest of the ride was silent. We pulled into the emergency room parking lot and hurried into the waiting room.
"What room is Chase Walker in?" Brayden asked the lady at the desk. You can never go wrong with a little red lipstick, but this lady went terribly wrong.
"Are you family?" She remarked rather rudely.
"Cousins. Now tell us where he is!" Brayden demanded. I've never seen her like this.
Rolling her eyes she said, "Room 420."
We left and rushed to the elevator to his room.
Inside the room he lay asleep with an IV attached to his arm. I grabbed the side of the bed and sat in the chair next to it. He woke up and looked at me with eyes full of hurt.
"Why Chase?" Brayden asked grabbing his hand.
"She hates me. I don't want to burden her. And I'd rather die then have the love of my life hate me."
