Chapter 8

Jc's POV

I'm being dragged into a cop car as I'm watching Brayden get beat. I'm kicking and screaming but nothing is coming out of my mouth. I can't get out of their hold. A fist connects with my face and I fall to the ground. my vision is blurred and I can see blackness creeping up. All of the sudden something hard hits me in the stomach. I cry out pain. All I see is, Darkness.

I finally come too and I'm in a dark basement. I look around and find a flashlight. I click it on and I see Brayden laying in a pool of blood.

I jerk my body up. I am panting. Laying in a pool of my own sweat. I think, it's just a dream. The clock says its 4:00 pm. I slept that long? I look next to me and I don't see Brayden. Panicked, I search for any sigh she is still in here. Just as I'm about to call her, the bathroom door opens and Brayden wrapped up in a towel walks out.

"Jc what's wrong? You look like you just saw a ghost." She said. I walk over to her and squeeze her tightly. She slowly hugs me back. "Are you okay?" She questions me. I nod into her shoulder. We pull apart and I quickly pull in to a big kiss. We hold the kiss for what feels like an eternity. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me and I can't even think about leaving her. She's amazing.

We eventually break it apart when we are both literally gasping for air. I lean in and kiss her lightly on the nose. "Jc will you tell me what's up?" I look into her eyes, I love her eyes. Brushing back a few strands of her hair, I love her hair. Grabbing her hands I look her up and down, I love her body. I say, "I love you." She smiles, I love her smile too.

She doesn't respond after a while and I feel like I'm gonna be rejected but then a couple arms wrap around my waist and I hear a whisper say, "I love you too. Brayden looks at the clock and gasps. I look puzzled at her. "I was supposed to be home 30 minutes ago! Well technically I was supposed to be home last night." Brayden says the last part quietly. I help her gather up her stuff as she changes.

When we're all ready we hop in my car and I drive as fast as I can to her house. When we get there she gives me a quick peck on the lips and jumps out. I sit down the road all little bit for a while watching her climb the tree. She looks back at me and waves.

Brayden's POV

When I get into my room I move the pillows and change my clothes so I'm not in my romper from last night. I am just about to call Devin when my parents walk in. "Where the hell were you!?' My dad asks obviously furious. Looking down at my feet trying my hardest to not make eye contact. "Uh...um, well." I sigh. "Okay late last night I got a call from Devin and she said that her and Chase go in a fight. I went over there to comfort her and I guess I fell asleep." Lie. Plain. White. Lie.

"I don't need you sneaking off. This is very unlike you. You are grounded for 1 months and I need your phone for a week." My dad says. I get frustrated but realize it's not worth it. I hand him my phone. He clickes the button and says, "Password. Take it off." My mind goes straight to Jc and mine's texts. "What no!" He gives me a very stern look. I sigh. I'll just delete them when I take the password off.

He hands me my phone then walks over to look over my shoulder. Crap. Typing in the password, 0814, the day Jc and I met. (A/N Yes, yes people I know. hopeless romantic.) When I hand him back my phone he walks out leaving it just me and my mom. After closing the door she comes and sits next to me. "Want to tell me where you really were?" I blush hard. "I'm guessing with a boy?" I blush harder. "Ooo. What's his name? Spill."

"Ugh, mom no!" I say not wanting to tell her. "Okay I understand." My mom stands up and observes my room. Walking out of my room she says, "Clean your room." I roll my eyes and get up to push her out the rest of the way. When she leaves I break down. The tears start coming. I open my window and climb onto my tree.

My dad will see our texts. He knows Jc. I have to leave him! Why is life such crap?

~~2hours later~~

I finally crawl back into my room. After I shower and pick out all the twigs from the tree. I wash off all my running makeup. After putting on some mesh shorts and my tennis shirt, I climb into bed and fall asleep.

~~2 days laterr~~

I wake up not ready for school. i wanna go to sleep! I slowly drag myself out of bed. Putting on my makeup, I hear a knock at my door. Ricky slowly walks in. "Hey sis, you okay? You were in the tree last night. Your never in the tree unless your upset." I look at him and nod. He's about to leave when I say, "Ricky come here." and I pull him into a hug.

When he leaves I get dressed. I put on my tribal print shorts, a light blue v-neck, and a white cardigan. At school, I search for Devin. Finally I see her standing by her locker. "Devin!" I shout as I run up fo her. "Brayden!" She shouts when I get to her. "My dad took my phone away and he made me unlock it so I think he has read mine and Jc's messages. I avoided him completely this morning. And I have to break up with Jc 'cause I can't risk him going to jail because of me! And now I'm freaking out! AGH!" I say really quicky. "Call him." She says as she hands me her phone. The phone rings twice before he picks up. "Justin!" I say. "Brayden. I've been calling you and texting you! Why haven't you answered?" I sigh. "My dad knows. I'm sorry I can't see you anymore." I hang up right after before he rejects. A single tear slips down my cheek. Devin oulls me into a big hug.

"Brayden. I found your come back." She spins me around and points to the new kid. Holy mother of pearl. His curly dark brown hair, and those eyes. They're so glossy. "Devin, he's so gorgeous." Devin nods, "Oh I know. He's coming turn around!" We turn and I open my locker. He walks up and stands next to me. That's his locker! "Uh hi, I'm Aaron Carpenter." He says offering his hand. "I'm Brayden." I say taking it. "That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I blush harder than ever.

A/N

Hey guys sorry for the late update! I've had tennis and been hanging out with McKenna before she leaves. I will try to update next week but if I don't, I'm leaving for San Antonio, Texas for vacation. Do you think by the time i get back I can get at least 100 votes?
