Three

Elena asked Candice to come with her to the college that Isobel worked at so they can figure out what Candice told her about Tyler's strength that Damon told her about. Candice said she would. When she arrived, Stefan and Elena walked out just to see Damon walking over to Candice. They watched them talk about something. "She really needs to see that she loves him."

"Candice is confused." Elena says as she looked at Stefan. "You can tell that Damon loves her and that Candice has feelings for him, but she doesn't know how to actually tell him."

"I find it weird."

"Why's that?"

"Something tells me if Candice wasn't born, history probably would have repeated itself." Elena gave him a disgusting look as she did not want Damon. "Yet, Candice is born and here she is."

"Thank god for that." Elena says. "I have a best friend and history isn't repeating itself."

Candice looked at them. "Are you coming, Elena or you going to stay behind with Stefan."

"I'm coming." Elena says. "I'm the only way we can get into her office."

"Not really." She says. "Alaric is."

Elena rolled her eyes smiling as Candice was right. She was adopted and even if she is Isobel's daughter, it wouldn't work as no one knew about Elena.

Arriving at the university, Candice, Damon and Alaric walk to the classroom since Elena decided to stay. Candice walked in and started looking around as Alaric spoke to Isobel's assistant.

Damon looked at her and walked over to her. "So why are you doing this?"

"Elena is tired of the supernatural." She says. "She doesn't want to turn and I know eventually, she will leave Stefan."

Damon leaned down causing the blonde to move back. "Why are you doing this?"

"I just told you." She found the book. "I want to figure out what's happening. Is Tyler something we never heard of? I need to know so I can protect my sister."

When Candice turned around, she shoved Damon out of the way as the arrow went into her arm. "Fuck!"

"Put it down!" Alaric tells her as she kept pointing the crossbow at them.

"Damon Salvatore died in 1864 and so did Alana Forbes."

"Who?" Candice asked. "I'm not this Alana person. I never heard of her."

"She was only human when the Salvatore brothers died." She says. "You are alive."

Candice looked at Damon as he pulled the arrow out of her arm. She gasped till Damon gave her blood causing her to huff.

The blonde walked to the desk after she moved Damon's wrist and started reading. "I'm sorry about wanting to kill your sister."

"Damon, give her a chance to learn." She says. "I know my sister can do this."

Damon nodded. "Can I kill Vanessa?"

Candice gave him a look causing Damon to roll his eyes. The blonde went back to reading and stopped as she saw something that concerned her. "Oh no."

"What?"

"Werewolves. Look."

Damon leaned down and started reading the two shared a look. "Stefan and Caroline."

Candice sat in the Salvatore's living room with a book about the Forbes family. Damon sat down beside her. Candice looked at Damon before opening the book to learn more about Alana Forbes.

I wrote this differently from the show. Enjoy and happy New Year's. And yes I did a plot twist but Alana isn't alive.
