"Damon." She says with tears in her eyes. "I thought..."

Damon hugged her. "No, but...I'm dying."

"What?"

"Tyler bit me."

"There must be a cure." Candice says in a panic. "I can't lose you. If you die, then I won't complete the transition." She touched his cheek. "I love you, Damon and if you go, I will go."

Damon pulled her into his arms as he knew he wouldn't die alone, but she has to feed. She has a life to live and find someone else. Candice looked at him causing him to smile. If she wants to go with him, then he won't fight her.

"She won't drink anything." Damon tells Stefan. "She wants to die with me."

"What?" Stefan says. "Why?"

"Because she said she can't go on without me."

"I will find a cure and you better get her to feed." He tells him. "I won't lose you or my best friend."

Damon watched him leave as he saw Candice standing in a far distance. She was slowly dying as she refuses to feed. He walked over to her causing her to look at him. "You need to feed because Stefan is going to find a cure."

"How?"

"I don't know, but I think he knows someone that might know."

"I'm not feeding till I know you won't die." She tells him.

Damon watched her walk away causing him to sigh. Caroline was getting ready to kill her sister for not completing the transition, but the blonde is a very stubborn woman. Damon followed Candice as he knew she will keep him company and away from humans.

Hours after the funeral, Candice and Damon have tried different ways to keep him from going out of the house. She's snapped his neck, he's bit her, everything. Anything that came to mind, they would do. Anything for Candice to keep Damon alive.

Holding Candice against the wall, Damon looked at her. "Damon, you can feed from me all you want, but this isn't you." She tells him after a few hours after being bit and her being in transition. "We're in this together."

"Candice?"

She watched him fall to the ground. Sighing, Candice dragged him back to his bed and managed to pull him in it. "Damon?"

"You would have loved me back then."

"That's not the Damon I knew. Yes, you are an ass, but that's the Damon I know now. The one I love. I don't care about 1864. I care about now and you. We're both dead anyways."

Damon pulled her into a hug. "Baby, as long as I have you, I don't think I'm scared of dying."

"Same."

Katherine looked at them as Elena was going to get her best friend to feed. She smiled as she saw them cuddling. "Sorry to interrupt, but I brought a peace offering." Katherine says causing them to look at her and Elena.

"You escaped?" Candice says. "How?"

"Just say, Stefan did something to get this and Elena here is going to save her friend."

The blonde looked beside her as Damon watched her bite Elena's wrist as he drunk the jar of blood. Candice pulled away as she offered Elena blood, who drank it, but she knew that Elena will make sure she is careful. "Thank you." Candice tells her.

"Anything to save my friend." She tells her. "Stefan gave himself up to save you and Damon."

"We will get him.."

"I know, but I don't know if I want to be with him now knowing I don't want to turn." She tells her.

Before she got the chance to ask, Elena had left. Katherine looked at the couple who didn't know what was happening, but she knew. Damon and Candice will get Stefan back.
