Candice

Seventeen

Deciding on a plan, Elena was going to speak to Elijah to see about the past since Damon hasn't left Candice's side since they know Klaus is coming and the ritual isn't too far away. She spoke to Isobel who killed herself, but the only one that has answers is Elijah and Candice won't be able to do that. That's why Damon is having Candice to sign the deed to their house, that way no vampire won't be allowed in, but them and Caroline.

"So why me?" She asked looking at Damon and Stefan. "Elena is with you Stefan, so why me?"

"Because you are the one in danger not her." Damon says. "Plus we know you won't do anything stupid."

Seeing him looking at Elena like he knew something had her looking at her own friend. Elena shrugged as she didn't know what he meant, but deep down, she knew Damon wasn't stupid and he was going to do whatever it takes to protect Candice. She knows he loves her and the blonde loves him, but Elena wants to help her best friend.

After signing all the papers, Elena looked at Candice. "You're going to tease Damon, aren't you?"

"Yep." She says as they walked to the door. "Stefan, you may enter."

Stefan walked in, but Damon looked at Candice. "Really?"

"I can tease." She tells him. "I want answers from you." Stefan looked at his brother as Elena snuck away. "Why are you truly doing this? If I can protect my friends, family and you, then why can't you just accept my fate."

"Because I refuse to lose the one woman I will ever love. Because of you, I moved on from Katherine, I learned more about her best friend's doppelganger. Yes, I made mistakes when we first met because  of what I've done to your sister." He confesses. "I'm not going to lose someone who still sees me as me, but has changed me a little bit. You dying won't help me or your sister." Candice walked a little closer as Stefan stood there smiling. Damon touched the blondes cheek. "No matter what happens, I will make sure you turn and that you will be safe from Klaus."

Smiling, Candice had one thing to say. "Come in, Damon."

Once inside, Stefan saw Damon pull Candice into a hug.

Candice searched everywhere for Elena and decided to search in the basement. She walked towards the basement to see the front door open. "Stefan? Damon?"

Stefan appeared. "What's wrong, Candice?"

"The door is open."

The two ran downstairs and stopped seeing Elijah's body gone. "Elena." Stefan says as he ran to call her.

The blonde couldn't believe this was happening as she slowly walked upstairs. Her heart pounding in her ears, Candice felt as if she could pass out. Damon appeared and caught her as she passed out. "I'm killing elena."

"You won't do such thing."

"She woke Elijah up. Candice is now in more danger than before." He says holding her. "If anything happens to her, Elena will die. Brother or not."

Stefan watched him leave the room. He knew Damon meant it. He will kill Elena if something happens to Candice Forbes.
