Taylor's POV
April

Jay is not a typical good guy, I need to remind myself of that as we walk hand in hand over to psychology. He isn't scared about punching guys or getting into fights. I look down at his hands, the ones that hold me in the night, the ones that give me intense pleasure and the ones that just smacked Nate around the jaw. Hands clasped around my own, intertwined with my fingers holding me softly as we climb the stairs of the lecture hall. Justin eyes me from across the room, and it strikes me as odd that I've never noticed him before, never even looked twice. He glances away and back down at his books when I smile at him.

We resume our usual seats with Ross, the two of them laugh a little about how they've both smacked Nate and I scoff trying to ignore their camaraderie. Carter begins his lecture and I sit there unbelieving that Jay would physically harm somebody else, even Nate, for me. He is so intelligent yet at the same time such a brute of a guy. And as I gaze up at him I realise that he is a whole bunch of contradictions in my mind. His beautiful angelic face and gorgeous blonde hair, a guy that loves his mom yet punches guys on the fly. A psychology major that spends more time in the gym than the library. Never has he attended any debates club.

He meets my searching eyes and smiles, that gorgeous smile that says I know you love me. How could you not.

"I can't wait until later" I whisper to him softly in his ear my lips brushing his neck a few times.

"There's a benefit to having a bed on campus that is in your very own dorm" he whispers smiling down at me.

The lecture ends, and honestly I'm utterly unsure what any of the topics were as I spent the entire hour thinking about Jay. Ross ups and leaves, without a second glance in my direction. I'm sure he's a little bit annoyed and frustrated by not being able to work things out between us. By me not slipping back into his arms, his house and his bed.

"One minute" I say to Jay watching after Ross as he descends the steps quickly.

"Ross?" I say once I reach him; almost out of breath matching his pace.

"Can we talk later?" I ask softly, knowing that I need to smooth things over with him whilst we are both sober, and whilst neither of us are high.

"Sure Tay, three ish?" Ross says watching me closely.

"At the dorm house?" I confirm and he nods.

"Okay sure see you there" he says finally smiling at me. I hug him as Jay catches up with us a grin on his face.

"Taylor you've literally got guys smacking Nate all about the place for you" he says and I roll my eyes.

"Nate is the problem not me, and hey drop it now" I laugh as he grabs my hand and we all walk over to the refectory for lunch together.

"Thanks Ross for defending me at that party by the way, when I wasn't there" I say as he gives me a smile. Briefly looking in my direction his eyes flicking down to our joined hands before he looks away.

"Hey man at least you got a thank you, I got a lecture" he laughs and I swat him as he rolls his eyes. Spotting the others, excluding Nate, seated around the sofas by the pool table we decide to choose our food before heading over to them.

Jay holds onto my hips as we sashay around the counters, I grasp some pasta leaning over to collect the pot as he sighs watching me and I grin.
