Leaning over the pool table in a short dress is a step classier than taking your clothes off, I tell myself desperately trying to not feel self conscious. I am beating Josh and he's taking this seriously.

Having potted a red I'm aiming for the colours in order and I don't plan on missing. I pot the yellow and it sneaks in just as I aimed it too. I straighten up from leaning over the table and I smile.

"Nice" Josh says admiring my shot.

Jay is playing Ross on the other table, yes Josh has two pool tables not just the one. I am however aware of Matty. He is sitting in one of the armchairs and as I walk around the table I can see him in my peripheral vision. He's sipping his drink and the girl next to him is watching him conspicuously. Like he might decide to look back at her if she started dancing around him. Or something. She has straight red hair and far far too much makeup on.

"Winner plays Matty" Josh suggests and I smile.

"I will win" I laugh.

"Oh yeah" he eggs me on.

"Babe you couldn't pot a red" I sigh.

He laughs and shakes his head.

"I did let you go first though" he says.

"Is that your excuse" I laugh lining up on the green.

"Not an excuse it's a fact" he laughs.

Now I'm right in Matty's eye line. I inch over the table incrementally and pot the green.

I straighten up and smile.

"Okay let's change the rules then you want to play fair, I'll give you a shot at the brown. If you pot it then games yours so long as you can finish it" I say to him hearing Jay chuckle from the other table.

"That's a good bargain" Ross says

"Shots clear" Jay adds smirking

They momentarily stop their game and I sip my wine. Jay stands with me watching Joshua line up his shot.

"It's a miss" he whispers and I chuckle feeling for his hand.

"So sexy, by the way. I'll have you know I'm losing because of you leaning over tables in that dress" he whispers.

"Hmmm maybe we should get a pool table" I say turning to face him.

"We don't have to play pool on it" I whisper back and he grins

"Stop it" he whispers

"Make me" I face him and kiss him

Joshua misses the green and I disentangle myself from Jay smiling at him.

"Perfect looks like I'll finish it" I sigh turning back around.

Matty stands up from his chair to watch.

"Looks like you'll be playing her next" Josh sighs laughing.

"She's pretty good" he adds

"Oh I know" Matty says and comes to stand by the table. Just watching me finish off potting all of the balls. I'm not put off by him. Josh goes to lean against the table next to him and I just work around them. When I'm done I turn to them looking at Josh first.

"Don't be a sore loser" I say.

"Okay Matthew let's go" I smirk.

He smiles at me and positions the balls on the table.

"I'm ready babe" he says.

"You can go first" I tell him and he smirks.

I watch him lining up his shot, I know he won't just smash it and get lucky he is calculating it. He moves his hair off of his face and in one swift movement he moves his cue and of course pots a red.
The one he intended on potting.
