A month ago Brian's pov

It was a chilly night. The moon was shining bright in the dark, cloudless sky. I attempted to relax as I raised my gaze to the stars. All I need is a sign. One sign that she's okay. I want her to be alright. I exhaled forcefully and stopped moving. In front of me was a large tree, so I chose to lean against it. "Is everybody okay?" I queried.

"No. It's been hours of searching, I believe we should-" I quickly turned to glare at Dylan, who was on the opposite side of the tree. He shook his head and shut his mouth. "Or not." I gave a quick nod before turning to keep moving. "He's actually got a point, Brian. We won't be able to cover as much ground as we had anticipated. She could be anywhere because of the size of our territories." Jacob sighed and turned around. I'm not going to quit. Regardless of how worn out I am. I need to know if she's alright. "Look, if you guys want to go back and stop looking then that's fine. I'm not stopping until I know she's safe." I entered a clearing after moving past everyone. "Guys, he's right. She might be wounded. Or worse." James concurred and followed me.  "Let's not think of the worse. James are you still unable to mind link her?" I asked looking at him. "If I were able to then you would know now wouldn't you pretty boy? How about you check her location, I know she shared it with you."

"I don't have time for your pissy attitude a yes or no would've sufficed. She did share it but it's not pin pointing her exact location." I bumped his shoulder as I passed him and he growled. Jacob grunted. "This is pointless! Brian we need to go back and come up with a plan. Let's try again in the morning. We will all be more clear headed and with full belly's we could-" I stopped walking and closed my eyes. Full belly's? Really? My body started to get hot again and my head was pounding. "Are you seriously thinking about your stomach at a time like this?" I carefully turned around and sent a critical glance Jacob's way. I started to tremble and every step I took made the ground beneath me rumble. They all began to bow once more while wailing in agony. "Aahh! What the hell!" Alex exclaimed and fell to his knees. They all followed suit and caught themselves before they fell onto their faces. I scowled and took a small step backward. "What's happening?" They're bowing again. Dylan's face was covered with panic as he turned to face me. He's trembling. I stepped into a puddle and looked down at it. My body was emitting steam, and my eyes were a brilliant gold color. "What the hell!?" I yelled as I leaped across the puddle. Am I losing my mind?

"Dude I don't know what's going on with you but I really need you to stop giving off so much power. You're killing us here." Dylan muttered as he sat completely upright on his knees. "Our wolves are extremely submissive to you." Jacob said as he sat on the ground while snarling.  "You need to get your emotions under control mutt. Whatever you are—whatever this is—is beyond powerful. Personally, I don't like it." Laughing, James made an effort to stand. What's going on with me? I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. Trying to calm myself is really hard when my girlfriend is out here on her own. Scared. No one to protect her. My chest started to rumble and a small growl left my lips. I covered my mouth and faced everyone with wide eyes. "Dude .... what the actual fuck. He just growled! Am I going crazy or did he growl!?" After yelling, Dylan got to his feet. "He most definitely did growl." Our entire group turned to face Alpha John. "Come. There are hot blankets and fresh meals at the pack house. You guys should rest. What's happening with Brian has been explained to me by Angel. You'll be interested in hearing this." He pointed with his hands in the direction of the pack house. "I'm not leaving until-" There was a snarl that cut me off.  "Brian stop it! You are no good to Crystal dead! You should eat and rest, and I'd prefer not to face the moon goddess' wrath for allowing you to starve to death! Now let's go!" Dylan dragged me toward Alpha John by firmly grabbing my arm. I snatched my arm away from him and walked ahead of everyone. He's right. I shouldn't jeopardize my emotional and physical well-being. I need to be strong for when I find her.
