Crystal Point of ViewHow could he do this!? Why would he do this!? He should have gotten into the car with me rather than staying back and fighting alone. He lacks the necessary training to deal with this type of threat. "Turn this car around right now!" I hit the backseat of the driver's side. "I apologize if this comes off rude Queen Crystal, but your mate terrifies me more than you do and if I don't keep you safe I'm pretty sure he'd kill me." The driver spoke while taking long breaths. It looks like he's attempting to soothe his nervousness or anxiousness. I groaned and covered my face with my hands. "Crystal?" I looked up and saw Chris staring at me. Worry was engraved across his features. "Please tell me what's happening. I'm a little confused at the moment." He chuckled uneasily while scratching the back of his neck. He looked over to the female warrior, who was staring at him and holding his hand. He blushed and glanced down into his lap. "I apologize for bringing you into this, Chris, but I will explain everything later today. Please bear with me for the time being." I sighed and rubbed the bridge of my nose. A headache is starting to develop. I have a feeling that something horrible is going to happen. "Where are you, Crystal? Do you know your exact location?" I jumped when a voice abruptly interrupted my thoughts. It was Bruce. He's most likely in his wolf form, his voice sounds gruff. I cast a quick glance at the warrior, giving her a silent confirmation to distract Chris. She nodded and lightly caressed his face. He gasped softly, and his gaze was fixed on her. "So my handsome mate, tell me about yourself." She smiled brightly at him as he reddened again and stumbled through his words. I peered out the window at my surroundings. "I'm passing by the old abandoned school off Linkon Road. We're about to get off the main roadways but, Bruce don't worry about me. I'm more concerned about Brian. Please go help him."
"Sorry, little wolf. He has guardians, and you have me. My obligation is to protect you, not him. I apologize again. Tell the driver to exit at West Street and stop at the petrol station. I'll be waiting for you all to arrive. Make it quick. Don't forget to stay mindful of your surroundings." I felt him slip away but kept our connection open. I punched the back seat in anger before taking a deep breath to calm down. Chris was still being distracted by his mate. Good. He doesn't need to worry right now. I informed the driver of what Bruce had told me and sat back in my seat. Please be safe, Brian. You don't know what you're getting yourself into. Aurora has been on high alert, ensuring our senses are heightened so we can detect danger if it comes. "I love your hair Olivia, the color is so unique." Chris remarked this while twirling his mates hair between his fingers. She grinned brightly at him, grabbing his wrist and kissing it. "Thank you. Majority of my family members have this color. You could think of it as a natural family heirloom." She giggled and tucked a strand behind her ear. It truly was unique. It was tight and curly. The color was red, pink, and orange. It merged smoothly and became one. When the sun shines on it, the other hues become visible. It contrasted well with her brown skin. My thoughts were interrupted by my pacing wolf. "Crystal . . ." She sounded alarmed. "What's wrong Aurora?" She didn't respond for a few seconds before I pushed her forward. "Get down human!" My eyes widened at her frightened tone, and I did as she said. As soon as I did, a bullet flew through the window, past my head and striking the driver in the side. He shouted in pain but maintained control of the car. "Fuck. Fuck! Fuck!" He exclaimed, and I sat up, shocked by his condition. "It's laced! The goddamn bullet is laced!" Despite his condition, he kept the car going and remained focused. "What the hell is going on!?" Chris said as he looked back and forth among everyone.
"Chris Sit back and fasten your seatbelt. Queen Crystal, please do the same. I'll handle this situation." Olivia murmured as she pushed Chris back into his seat. "Queen? Why are they calling you queen?" Chris glanced at me wide-eyed, but I didn't say anything in response. "Warrior Stone, please keep the car steady. I understand you are in unbearable pain, but our mission is to protect the queen." Olivia took out her gun and ensured that a round was in the chamber. "Again with the queen stuff. Crystal, explain right now!" Chris gripped my shoulders and shook me slightly. "Chris, calm down! You freaking out won't help us. I'll explain everything later, as I said, so sit back and be quiet! Please." I huffed out and made certain he was safe. He crossed his arms and pouted. Well, I hurt his feelings. He'll be alright. "Thank you Aurora you saved my life." I looked behind us and noticed a dark car following us closely. There appeared to be three people inside the car. One person was pointing a gun. I turned around as I heard the front window slide down. "I need everyone to duck. Now!" We did as instructed, and I heard a barrage of gunshots flying through the car. It whipped past our heads, making horrific sounds in the process. It's like little fireworks hitting metal. It smelled like burnt rubber and blood. A bullet hit my side, and I yelled in pain. "Crystal!" Chris yelled and unbuckled himself, approaching my side and holding the wound. "Chris get your head down now!" Olivia shouted and began shooting at the other car. It roared loudly and shook the car. The noise was so loud that it pierced my ears. "Ahh! Dammit! What is this?!" I looked down at my wound and noticed black smoke coming from it. I looked up at Chris and saw his wide eyes fixed on it. He returned his gaze to mine, noticing the pain on my expression. He ignored the smoke and wrapped his body around mine. "Just stay down, okay. I got you." He said, pulling me down more. I shouted again when my side felt like searing hot liquid. It moved up my chest and down my abdomen.
