Brian's POV
We were all downstairs, waiting for an update from Bruce and Crystal. I gazed at my phone, waiting for her name to come up. "Okay what warriors were with her during the time of the attack?" Dylan sighed and opened the refrigerator. I believe eating back-to-back is an indication of stress for him. "I think her name was Olivia. I remember this because she found her mate, Crystal's friend, who we were visiting." I threw my phone on the table and wiped my hands down my face. This is extremely annoying. Why hasn't anyone contacted us yet? "Give me a second Brian." Dylan appeared to be staring out into space as I looked up at him. Alex and Jacob as well. Their eyes expanded and they became extremely tense. I grimaced and stood up from my position. "What's going on guys?" I approached them, and Alex gave me an apologetic look. He stopped spacing out and cursed under his breath. "Dammit Brian I'm so sorry." He cursed again and sprinted for the front door. "Brian, look at me. I need you to be cool and level-headed, okay? They're pulling up now with Crystal, but—" Before Dylan could complete his sentence, I rushed after Alex, who opened the front door and bolted out. I did the same.
"Brian, wait. Wait! You don't want to see this bro come back!" Jacob chased after me, attempting to pull me back into the house. I snatched away from him, grabbing him by the throat and pushed him against the house. It cracked slightly, and Jacob winced at the force I used. "If you try to keep me away from her any longer, I'll kill you. Back off!" I let him go, and he fell to the ground with an oof. He began coughing and gripping his throat. Dylan rushed to his side and turned his face toward his. Checking to see if he was okay. "Brian, you need to settle down before you see her. Please. Your wolf is out of control, and he will not like what he sees." I frowned at Dylan's words and turned to see the cars pulling into the driveway. When they came to a stop, I noticed warrior Olivia exit the driver's seat and Chris from the passenger's seat. He looked around in astonishment of what he saw. He noticed me and gave me a small nod. I did the same. Olivia stood by his side and grasped his hands. "Come, lets get you cleaned up." He looked down at her, smiled slightly, and followed her inside. Some warriors took a strange man from the back trunk. He was fighting them, but his wrists and lips appeared to be bound in some form of rope. It was covered in some type of black slime, and he winced whenever he tried to pull against it. I frowned at his outfit and realized something. He looked just like the female witch who attacked me. They approached me, and I snarled loudly. He noticed me and his eyes widened. The rope muffled his screams of horror. I suppose he knows who I am. They came to a stop in front of me, and he was panting as he attempted to flee, but he didn't take his terrified gaze away from me. "What would you like us to do with him? Alpha Dylan, Alpha Brian." I looked at them in disbelief, then at Dylan. Did they want my orders? Dylan grinned at me and nodded to them. "Go ahead bro, you're the big boss around here." I chuckled at him, relieved that he isn't upset about what I did to Jacob. I noticed the witch recoil at my gaze. "Take him to the dungeon. Don't do anything to him yet. I want to speak with him myself." The witch began writhing around in protest. I couldn't tell what he was saying, but it sounded like "please." I waved my hand, directing them inside. Where is my mate?
I took a deep inhale to see if I could detect Crystals scent. It was dull but there. I smiled and hurried up to the car, where her the scent was strongest. Alex blocked my vision as he opened the door. What's that smell? It was acidic but sweet. Metallic even. "It's blood." I jumped at the strange sound in my head. It sounded like . . . Antares! I thought he couldn't talk to me through our bond yet. "Mate. Where is our Queen?" He started snarling and became really agitated. Something must be wrong. My thoughts were disrupted by screaming and yelling. My senses were on high alert. Yeah, something's wrong. "Get the hell out of the way! Don't touch her!" Bruce was yelling at Alex as he attempted to reach for something. Alex was pushed out of the way, and a panicked woman and Bruce emerged from the car. When I looked down at Bruce's arms, I let out a gasp. There she was. Her face was battered, her clothes had been ripped off but were partially covered by a blanket, her ribs appeared blueish purple, and she had a gunshot wound in her side. Bruce gave me a worried look. I hadn't noticed, but Antares took over just now. Once again, I feel like I'm in a video game. This time, I'm the main character being controlled. He let me witness what was about to transpire.
