Just another day

I looked up at the most beautiful sky ever. The wind is softly caressing my face and gently blowing my hair. I laid back in the grass to feel it's softness and smell the sweetness. I can feel the vibrations of the Earth and I can even hear animals so far away that it still blows my mind till this day.
Being a werewolf is awesome.

I sit up from the dewy grass and push my hair from in front of my face. I take a deep breath, lift up my arms, and exhale. I intake the moist air and heavenly scents of the goddesses creation. I stand and look behind me to see my mom and dad silently watching me. They're always doing that. They say that they want to keep me protected but I feel as if I could protect myself. I know they mean well but I'm 20 years old and I'm still living under the packs roof. I want to go out and have my own adventure. Even though I said that I can take care of myself, I'm scared. I've heard that other werewolves kill the Omega's because of their inability to protect their pack.

They're unable to fight alongside everyone else in their pack. I was never able to fight or train so I feel like a burden. Alpha John says I'm not a burden, there are plenty of other omegas in the pack but they also told me that they feel like they don't belong. Our pack does not discriminate. We are loving and I am so grateful to be here.

I walk to my parents while wiping specs of dirt and grass off of my pants. I smile at them gently and embrace them. My mom giggled and my dad grunted saying I'm too affectionate for him. I sighed, "I love you guys, I want to thank you for being the best parents I've ever had." I let them go and saw my mom smiling her biggest smile ever. "Honey we're the only parents you've ever had." She said. I chuckled and headed towards the back door. "Is lunch ready yet?" I heard my dad ask while yawning. I cracked open the door and was met with the most delectable smell ever. I took the deepest breath I could and almost fainted from the aroma. I practically threw my body into the kitchen to see who was the master mind of that smell.

I heard someone scream and grunt. "How DARE you almost give me a heart attack without warning me!? I need to be ready for my funeral please and thank you." I laughed at my best friends inability to be funny. "See this is why I love you James. You try so hard to be funny when you're not." He scoffed and chuckled coming towards me to give me a bear hug, like he always does. "I love you too care bear." He kissed my forehead and let me go. "So are you the master mind of this wonderful food right here?" I asked walking towards the stove. "Why yes I am my diddly poo." He said wrapping his arms around my waist. "You need to quit with the nicknames James you're killing me here." I said giggling as he sniffed my neck a little. "I'd rather not short cake. I like it when I irritate you with just my words. Have you been playing in the grass again?" He questioned while letting me go to finish his cooking.

"Yes, yes she has." My dad said walking towards us. I screeched a little and spun around to face him. "When the- What? I didn't even hear you come in." I pouted. He chuckled and sat down on a stool. "That's because I'm secretly Batman." He whispered. I frowned still not sure why I didn't hear him. I hear everything.

"It's okay sweety I've known the man my whole life, he's a tiptoe master. He just wanted to spy on you guys." My mom said standing by my dad.
He scoffed and I heard James drop something. "Ow! Mother of-! Mmmm." I turned to see him sucking on his finger. "Are you okay James dear?" My mom asked walking up to him.
I walked to the both of them and looked at the supposed injury. "Ah you big baby it's healing." I said slapping him gently on his back. He looked at me mouth agape, "Some best friend you are." He scoffed and walked to the sink rinsing off the blood. "Call us down when the food is ready." My dad said walking away and yawning.

"Sweety come on the fight started like years ago." He said running up the stares. My mom groaned and looked at James. "Are you okay hun?" He looked at her and nodded. "I'm a big boy I can handle it." She smiled and nodded. She started for the stairs. "Honey! Mayweather is winning!" She screeched and ran as fast as she could. I laughed and turned towards James. He was already looking at me. "So, do you want to help me cook?" He asked pointing towards the food on the counter. I looked at it then back at him then down at his finger. "Nope." I said sitting down. "I like my precious fingers thank you very much." He chuckled and walked towards me. He leaned on the counter and propped his head up with his good hand. "SO! Your birthday is on its waaayyy. We're going to get you DRUNK!" I looked at him wide eyed like he was crazy.

"The inside of my body is healthy and so is the outside and I would love to keep it that way so ... No." He frowned and slightly stood. "Fine! Don't come running to me when you want chocolate cake then." I gasped and pointed a finger at him. "Don't you DARE bring my chocolate cake into this. It doesn't even have anything to do with this!" He smiled a little and shook his head.

"You are something else you know that baby girl." I blushed a little. He's never called me that it's usually a silly nickname. I tucked my head a little to let my hair fall on the sides of my face. "Good or bad?" I asked softly. He gently touched my chin and lifted my head up to look at him. "Good." He whispered. I gazed into his dark chocolate eyes as he gazed into mine. I heard heavy footsteps running down the stairs. I jumped back a little seeing my dad flailing his arms around. "Mayweather won! MAYWEATHER WON!" I giggled and turned towards James. He gave me a small smile and went back to cooking.

This is just another day.
