Crystal pov

I couldn't get any sleep. I kept replaying our phone conversation in my head. I want to know if he's okay or if he needs me to be by his side. I sighed and sat up in my bed. I looked outside to see that it had gotten darker. I don't think it's safe for me to leave now. But I want to see my mate. I removed the blankets off of me and stood up. Walking towards the balcony doors, I opened them and stepped out. I shivered at the cold night air. I crossed my arms and sighed, looking over the railing.

Some kids were playing around at the park and the mother's were chatting by the bench. I could leave for a second. Just a second wouldn't hurt. I walked back into my room and picked up my phone. I looked through our messages to see his address he sent me. As I was putting on my shoes I heard a knock at my door. I already knew who it was before he said anything. "Crystal can I-"

"I'm a little busy, sorry." I said grabbing my jacket. "I just need to talk to you for a second it won't take long." I growled a little and opened the door. He scanned me from head to toe and frowned. "Where are you going?"

"What do you need to talk about James?" I said crossing my arms. "Answer my question Crystal, where are y-"

"Can't I go out without you breathing down my neck!?" I said throwing up my hands and walking toward my bed to pick up my phone. I heard my door slam and a growl. "I am your future alpha! Show some respect!" He didn't use the alpha tone this time. "And I'm your friend James! Where was my respect!?" I said spinning around to face him. "Huh!? Am I not allowed to get the same respect as you? Take your respect and shove it, I'm done!" I said snarling at him.

His face showed regret and anger all at once. He clenched his hands and stepped forward. I didn't move not one bit, he doesn't scare me. "You're going to go see him aren't you?" I didn't say anything just stared. He growled and grabbed my arm pulling me forward. I gasped and clutched his shirt to keep my balance. He squeezed it tight to a point where it'll leave a bruise. I winced and tried to push him away from me.

"I forbid you to see him until I see fit. And that's an order." He spat.

My eyes widened and I successfully snatched away from him. " You can't do that." I whispered. I felt a slight pain in my heart. "And if you disobey me there will be consequences. I won't hold back either." He crossed his arms and his eyes turned red. I started to tear up because of the pain in my heart and the pain he's causing me emotionally. What happened to my best friend? My only friend? "I did nothing wrong to you. Why are you treating me this way?" I said wiping my tears away. He looked away and sighed. "I don't have to explain myself to you. Just listen to me. For once just li-"

"Listen to you!? You want me to listen to you? You're forbidding me to see my mate. My mate James!" I stood up and pushed him. He stumbled back while staring at me in disbelief. "Watch it Crystal."

"No, you watch it. I don't care what you say. I'm going to go see him. And I don't care what you do to me, I'm leaving." I walked passed him and opened the door. "If you step one foot out of this house consider yourself banished from this pack."

The pain increased then. I heard multiple growls and footsteps running towards me. I clutched my chest and gasped. "James stop it!" The alpha said grabbing me. "Hey sweety look at me." I sobbed and looked up at him. My parents were behind him as well. My dad looks like he's about to shift and my mom looks like she wants to rip James's head off. "We heard everything, of course. Look honey, go see your mate. He won't do an-"

"But dad! She-"

"Shut up! How dare you cut me off!? Go to the dungeon!" I looked at James and saw fear in his eyes. "But I-" he glared at him making James bolt out of the room. "You're not banished. Forget everything he said. Go see him, you're in pain from possible pack banishment and he's the only one who can help you." I sniffled and nodded. He pulled me in for a hug and kissed my forehead. "But the hybrid." My mom said pulling me towards them as my dad checked my injuries. The one on my neck faded but there was one forming on my arm from James tight grip. It was turning a purplish, bluish color. "She's safe. I'll have warriors keep an eye on her." Alpha John said sighing and walking away.
